  1. Observed : There was no such file at all. the File just got vanished. It only happen with my APub & AD files not with APhoto files. I haven't had issues with AD, so far. I'll have to just keep track. There are lots of good features in this and it is NOT Adobe, so I am not ready to give up on it, if the issues can be and are dealt with.
  2. I never switched on syncing. Never even thought about syncing.
  3. That is not the case. Files are saved to where I save them unless I send them to the cloud. It should be mentioned that after recreating the file, following the same steps I believe I took the previous time, everything went fine. I can open the file without issues...so far.
  4. The full title was "Long photo Book- 1". I do not have screen shots since I can't find the file to open it again. The folder is on my desktop. I am on a Mac running Mac OS 15.3.2 (24D81), 64 gigs of ram, AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB, and 3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7. Sorry since I was not expecting the glitch I did not take screen shots. BTW do people take running screen shots of their work? I have never heard of such a work flow, but I suppose I should consider it, just in case.
  5. I was not looking for a file called "untitled". I know it was not there in hind sight because it would have stood out. "Long Book..." is the title. The title is longer than that, but I don't see that the full title is relevant here. That said, I could provide it if I could understand how it would help me find the file or learn hoe the naming could help avoid the experience in the future. Maybe I should re-mention that, while I am interested in solving and learning from this experience, I have recreated the file and moved on.
  6. I saved the file as "Long Book.." I reference "untitled" because it was mentioned in this thread that the auto save function in the application uses that title. No "untitled" file appeared on the "recents" list, only files that I recognized and could locate in the expected folder.
  7. I mean, it was not there. The name was not there. No "untitled" file was there. I looked for it in the dedicated folder I thought I had saved it in. No trace of it could be found. I did a "search" for it on the whole drive, nothing.
  8. I tried the "open recent" option first, without success. It is as if I worked for hours in a dream and the work never happened. Anyway, it made enough of an impression that I will be watching to see if this kind of "crash" happens again.
  9. I should have said I believe I saved the file... a few times. I was working along and it disappeared. I thought it was an issue of embedding or linking the files since some prompt flashed just before. Unfortunately, I don't recall exactly what it said or the exact sequence of events. I gave up on finding it after exhausting all the ways I know to find the files. I have mostly used Affinity Photo and Designer and love them both. In other ways Publisher seems a bit less developed and user friendly. I'll struggle with it a bit more before deciding whether to use it. Thanks for you reply.
  10. I spent a few hours working on a file. I understood it was being saved. However, while attempting to add some text, It disappeared, seemingly without a trace. What could I have done to cause this?
  11. Is there a tracing feature in Affinity Designer yet? If not, why not?
  12. Thanks. I use Canon. I was hoping the developer persona would have been made more friendly to Canon this time around. 😀
  13. Does v2 have any new tools to help in infrared development? if so will you please do a tutorial on them?
  14. Is there any chance of adding Plotagraphic capability to Affinity Photo? Not just masking a photo over a video but pixel shifting to simulate motion in a photograph.
  15. How do I make an object a designated size in inches that is in real life bigger than the screen? For example I need to make a large sign and an object on the sign must be a certain size. How do I do that?
