  1. This is weird. I just tried several other files and they seem to print just fine. I had made an assumption that the file in question was NOT the issue because when this first happened I copied that file over to my MacBook Pro and brought it up in APub on that machine and it worked fine. Obviously my assumption was false and there is something with the file that is causing Apub to crash on my wife's computer but not on my computer (both now running 1.10.4). This was a simple templet file and it will be easy for me to build her a new one. So in summary, I can rebuild her this templet file and she will be back up and running but we still have no idea why it worked fine in 1.10.4, then after she upgraded to 1.10.5 it crashed, and continues to crash after she reverted back to 1.10.4. So we're good - thank you everyone for your help. I'm attaching the file in question if anyone is curious. Like I said, it works fine on my laptop. HorizontalCard 5X7.afpub
  2. LondonSquirrel thank you very much. Crash file is attached. Affinity Publisher-2022-03-16-095529.ips
  3. Can anyone tell me how to get some help from Serif with this problem. My wife hasn't been able to work for the past two days because APub keeps crashing. I really need to get this resolved. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
  4. R C - R Thank you for your on-going effort to help us out. Very much appreciated. And thank you for the explanation. It's always a good day when I learn something new. Unfortunately doing that reset didn't help. The first time I did it the Clear User Data window came up with just the first 3 items checked. I clicked on Clear and when APub came up I loaded a file then clicked File and then Print and it crashed. So I held the control key down and started APub up again and this time I cleared All data. It still crashed.
  5. I apologize as it is apparent that I did not adequately describe the issue. I am convinced that it is not the printer software or driver for the following reasons: 1) My wife has three printers hooked up to her computer. Prior to her upgrading APub from 1.10.4 to 1.10.5 she could print to all three printers from APub with no problem. After the upgrade when you click on File and then Print, APub immediately crashes BEFORE you get the dialog box where you select the printer. Had we gotten the dialog box and selected her photo printer then I would suspect the printer software. However given that we don't even get the dialog box and the opportunity to select the printer, I do not believe it is printer software related 2) She can still print to all three printers from Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, Word, Excel, Safari, etc. Thus my belief that it is not printer software related. The only application that can not print to ANY of the printers is APub. R C - R I have no idea what you mean when you suggested I "reset" APub. I uninstalled 1.10.5 and reinstalled 1.10.4. I have rebooted the iMac. The only conclusion I can come to is that something changed with the install of 1.10.5 which is causing APub to crash the minute you click on File and then Print and prior to selecting a printer and setting up the print options. Whatever got changed did not change back when I reverted back to 1.10.4. I also failed to mention that it is not file related as APub exhibits this same behavior regardless of what file is loaded.
  6. Thank you R C-R for the link to the older version. Unfortunately removing 1.10.5 and reinstalling 1.10.4 did not resolve the problem. It appears that the act of installing 1.10.5 has altered something on her iMac such that Publisher can not print without crashing. Arrrrrgggggg! My wife depends upon Pubisher for her work so she is now effectively shut down. Any suggestions that might allow her to print without crashing the program would be very much appreciated.
  7. My wife opened up 1.10.4 on her iMac and got the notification of the upgrade to 1.10.5. Had she consulted with me I would have advised her to wait awhile before upgrading but she went ahead and upgraded without saying anything. Now as soon as she tries to print the program crashes. I redownloaded the program and that doesn't help. I've seen others mention rolling back to 1.10.4 but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that.
  8. Sorry - I probably should have posted an entire second set of screen shots, however they would have been exactly the same accept for the paper type selection. Printing from another application seems to work fine. She can print from PDF, Word, or Photo Shop without issue.
  9. We had this printer set up as a USB printer for about 18 months and we didn't see "printer features" either. Just Media & Quality as you noted. Then about two releases ago (Affinity Publisher) it switched to "Printer Features". I deleted the printer and reinstalled as an IP printer which didn't solve the problem. After reading your posting I removed the IP printer and reinstalled it as an AirPrint printer and a USB printer. When I print via USB it still gives me the "Printer Features" option and it still rescales everything when changing paper type. When I print to it via AirPrint I no longer get the "Printer Features" option but rather get the media and quality option. Unfortunately, the only media choices it offers are Envelope, Photo paper and Plain paper. My wife prints her artwork on a variety of specialty papers from Red River and wants to be able to set the specific paper type to a specific color profile. Just saying "photo paper" is not definitive enough.
  10. The size remains at 8.5 X 11. The output resolution remains unchanged and as you can see from the screen shots above the preview size doesn't change either. Haven't tried outputting to PDF.
  11. My bad - I should have mentioned that this is Publisher on MacOS. Catalina to be exact. 8 screen shots of print settings attached below. Out of all those settings the only one that was changed was the paper type. Again, selecting plain paper results in the image being printed at the correct size. Selecting any other type paper results in the scaling down of the image.
  12. If I have a simple one page document and place a 5 X 7 image on it and print it to my Canon Pro 100 printer, it prints properly if I select "Plain Paper". If I select any other type of paper (such as photo glossy, semi-gloss) etc. the image then prints about 1/4 sized. The only change made in "printer features" is the paper selection. All other settings are left alone. Changing back to Plain Paper results once again in a 5 X 7. Regardless of the paper selected the print preview appears with the proper scale. I can't imagine why changing the paper type would cause Publisher to reduce the scale of the image. We use a variety of different papers and would really like to be able to set the printer up properly. Below is a snapshot of a piece of 8-1/2 X 11 paper that was run through the printer twice. Once with the paper selection set to plain paper and once with the paper selection set to semi-gloss. You can see where the image was substantiated scaled down due to the change in paper selection specification.
  13. The automatic update from the Mac App store has brought my wife's work effort to its knees. As a work around we downloaded 1.7 and are running it as a 10 day trial. Sure hope Serif can either fix AF 1.8 or figure out a way for us to back rev.before the 10 days are up.
  14. My wife's Affinity Photo came from the Mac App Store. I would certainly have made a backup had I know that they were going to do an automatic update to a buggy version. She was using 1.7 one day and the next day it came up 1.8. Upgraded with no warning. She can't print with 1.8 so she is running a copy of 1.7 on a 10 day trial and hoping we can get some help from Serif before the 10 days is up.
  15. I'm in the same boat and actually it does cause an issue. As far as I can tell there is no way to back rev an app that was purchased from the Apple App store. When 2.0 comes I will move everything over to Affinity's store so that if we have another issue like we are having with 1.8 I can revert back.
  16. If nobody can tell me how to print from Affinity Photo 1.8 to the Canon Pro 100 without the image being reduced to 1/4 size, then can someone help me figure out how to revert back to 1.7? I purchased it from the Apple Mac App store so don't have the license key. My wife's production has come to a screeching halt since this upgrade and I need to find a solution soon.
  17. With the upgrade to 1.8, there is a new pull down for printing to the Canon Pro 100. One of the selections is Printer Features which has a multitude of settings, many of which we have no idea what they mean. Could you please provide a video or document defining these settings. As an example, in 1.7 there was a single setting for print quality. With 1.8 there appear to be 3-4 print quality settings. If we place an image on an 8.5" X 11" document and print it to the Canon the image comes out reduced in size to fit on 1/4 of the page. We have tried tweaking all these new settings and can't get the image to print full sheet. It appears full sheet in the print preview.
