I have a file which always crash Affinity Publisher when I try to save it. But also without saving it crash in-between or when I try to copy and past stuff. I checked already the forums where I figured out in the past was issue with linked images, but in my settings they should be included in the file. I would be happy to send you the file for verification if you let me know an email address.

Thanks for the hint of keeping both versions. I restored now with time machine and I can work on the old files with 1.7.3. @HGDC It only works if one of the rectangles is horizontal or vertically oriented. As soon as you rotate it it will be the same behavior. Affinity Support: Any new if this will be addressed soon?

Dear MEB, as the Boolean operations and compounds are critical to my work, is there a possibility to downgrade to version 1.7 until this is fixed? I have bought the Affinity products through Apples App store.

I did not had 1.8 beta installed. I could be that the file was originally created with 1.6.x but last changes was made with 1.7.3. I can also provide an additional file where I have the same issue.

Dear Sean, it is not exactly the file from the screenshot, but I think it should be visible. The upper object is a compound exactly 90° rotated. The lower one is just rotated in a different angle. CompundProblem.afdesign

I have created an compound in Designer 1.8 with ALT+Add and as soon I rotate the second component of the compound the shape is completely different than in Version 1.7.x Attached 2 screenshots to clarify the behavior. Please let me know if additional information is needed.

Affinity Designer 1.8 is crashing when opening an older file directly, but also a newer file when scrolling down in the layers. When scrolling down the layers it seems it always crashes when a specific layer becomes visible in the layer view. I can provide crash report when necessary or the file itself. I am using Affinity Designer on a Mac with macOS 10.14.6. It is curial for me to be able to work on the existing file.
