  1. First of all, I consider it rather ignorant to answer a 10-bit related question with "it's not HDR/EDR" compatible. Those are two different things. I also have a 10-bit compatible setup (Quadro K2200, DELL U2711) and despite the whole 32bit workflow compatiblity of Affinity I have yet to see if that's true. There is no setting to be found. Then there is this answer from a forum admin telling me I need to activate AERO interface on my win7 desktop (fun fact, with Photoshop you need to disable that) and still ... brushes are banding all over the place, no matter the settings. I run the 1.8.3 version and have all the latest stable drivers and I am running a i7-4790K @4GHz with 32GByte RAM. More than enough to edit 25 layers of 2k*5k pixels in 30 bit workflow without even stressing out my PC. That is, in photoshop. So long story short: how does Affinity support 30-bit workflow (not HDR, not EDR... but 30-bit) and how can a user check and/or enable this?
  2. Okay, so I revisited this question of mine. This is after the newest update of AP of which I was hoping that would have fixed this. Unfortunately, no it is not fixed. It is still impossible for me to retouch photo's with a brush larger than 50px. And even then I get a maddening amount of banding in the brushstroke. I tried it with 500px even a 100 pixel wide brush, but they all are useless to me. I have been editing photo's since 1996 and know what it is to struggle with hardware and software limitations. But this is completely new to me. How can it be that my overclocked i7 4790k is running 100% load and still AP produces crappy brushstrokes? While in Photoshop I can work with 30k*30k pixel photo's with 8 layers and still be able to draw perfect, smooth brushstrokes? Am I the only one having this issue, because if that is the case then I'll shut up, take my loss and pay my hostage fee to Adobe like before.
  3. Hi, I'd like to be able to set a specific drive as a scratch disk. I have a fast .M2 SSD specifically for Photoshop in case the 32GByte is not enough. This drive is way faster than the standard drive (although also SSD) to which windows 7 defaults. It would be nice to know I could setup and steer towards the best performing hardware, like this .M2 SSD for extra "memory" if needed
  4. So if I understand it correctly, the locking of the mask layer is not a property of the layer, but a modification of the action (in this case "move") Now that is actually a big mindset change. From a UI perspective, it means that I constantly have to look for options presented somewhere on the screen. (or in my case, google like crazy hoping someone thought to ask it on a forum)
  5. Hi fellow Affiniteers Is it just me or does Affinitiy Photo not know how to handle large brush sizes? I have a 32GByte Ram, overclocked i7 4950k. I am used to working in panorama photo's of a minimum of 20k*30k px, brushing up alpha channels with 1000 px large brushes in multiple layers (15 or more). All that without my desktop giving a freckle about it. However I find it utterly impossible to do in AP. Even in a single layer. single alpha channel image of just 3k*4k px and a 700 px brush. The CPU load goes to a whopping 95%, everything freezes and the screen is updated once every second. Absolutely killing my workflow. Am I the only one? Or does someone know a trick for this, because this is going to be a deal breaker for me. I have tried working with gradients alone, but that I can't get the same freehand result with that..
  6. Simple: I want shortcuts for tools also to be able to be CRT + T for example. Why would all other functions have this possibility, except tools? I saw a post of 2017 in which this has been mentioned also. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/37934-shift-or-ctrl-letter-key-custom-shortcut-not-working-for-tools/ It's 2019 now and I notice it still not deemed a worthy functionality?
