  1. Good Evening Team, Right now I am trying to create a brand mark in Affinity Designer. I have my art board open and I have a simple brand mark in black placed on the art board against a white background. The brand mark has very crisp edges and I want to soften them, so I have added a heavy Gaussian blur to the brand mark layer. Here is the issue. - I want to use the threshold filter on the brand mark layer to round out the edges of the Gaussian blur effect. When I try to apply the threshold filter adjustment on the brand mark it doesn't change the sharpness of the image at all. - If I promote the threshold filter above the mark to a new layer I can change the sharpness... this is all great but shouldn't the filters affect the layers they are on? - Also, if I successfully apply this technique to a brand in black and white I am not able to change the color of the black mark to anything else. - I need to be able to apply these filters to weather and soften the brand mark and then convert the new mark to a path and fill object that can be manipulated on its own. Is there anyway to do this? Hopefully, the images I have attached show the step by step process I'm trying to use to achieve and where I get stuck. Thanks, Dave
  2. I finally broke down and updated Affinity Designer to the latest release and what I feared the most happened. The functionality of the node tool has gone out of the window. I can no longer add anchor points along a path with the node tool. As an example, I draw a lot of text and then bring those sketches into Designer. I select a basic shape like a box and work around my sketch adding points and manipulating handles along the way. Now when I choose the simple shape to work with, convert to curves and try to add anchor points with the node tool all I can do is manipulate the path between two existing points. New anchor points cannot be added, period. I am extremely frustrated, is there a way I can go back to the previous iteration of Affinity Designer where the node tool worked well? This is a make or break function for me as a users. That tool worked perfectly in previous versions of the software. Thanks, Dave
  3. I've been trying to use transparent PNGs to add lightweight texture to my artwork. I've tried several different tutorials, and multiple different PNGs. When I overlay them on to my artwork and change the transparency to 'erase' it just turns the PNG texture white. I've tried using the color swatches and pickers to change the color to match the back ground paper, etc. and am still not able to get the desired affect. This is one of the tutorials I tried and best represents what I want to achieve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUi9KytBRLs I got the PNG files from Retro Supply Co, I've emailed them to see if I missed some portion of the instruction on how to use the textures. I haven't received a response.
