Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it does not solve the problem, or maybe it's me who doesn't understand the suggestion I have a long story about the family and its history. It's a story I've made in Indesign before, and now via a PDF copied into Publisher, that works better than Indesign. In this report, there is approx. 9,000 names that I now have to index, as surnames, first names. Do you have any suggestions, ie. a macro or equivalent or...? Kind regards

'm about to make a family book, containing several thousand names, which I would like to index. How about I made a normal index with names, ie last name, first name. ??
