  1. Hi everyone, I am getting consistent crashes when working in Affinity 1.9.3. I have been working in a document with artboards and after about a minute or so, my computer just shuts down completely. I have to unplug it for a few seconds before I am able to turn it on again. This is happening in Publisher, Designer, or Photo for me. I have a crash report that says the error is due to Affinity Designer. Is it possible to send this report to someone who can help me identify the error? Does anyone have any tips? Thank you, Mark
  2. Transparency always showed in preview before I upgraded to Big Sur recently. Upon selecting and de-selecting "Show Document Background" in preview, nothing changes. Also, opening the document in Adobe Reader, or re-loading the PDF into Designer or Publisher still shows a white background.
  3. Greetings, I'm sure this may have been answered already, but I am having a big problem with exporting in Publisher and Designer. I'm really hoping someone can help with this... I've created a book cover for print, for a spiral bound book (which does not have a spine), and even though I have made the document with a transparent background, I always get a white background on PDF export. I have tried pretty much all exporting options. I have even exported front and back cover separately and then placed them in a full spread document, but still there is a white background where there should be a transparent one. Since my book is not published yet I've covered the artwork with rectangles, however the artwork for both front and back cover is fully rasterized (except for text which I choose to export as curves). Does anyone have any ideas? Does this happen upon grouping certain layers? Or maybe a bug with the Designer cropping tool? I also tried the solutions on both of these forums, but with no success: White bleed exporting bug Bleed always white
  4. Greetings, I am hoping some of the publishing wizards out there can help me with a small problem on Color Profiles / Exporting for Print... I completed the layout and design for a 300 page book, for which the interior is Black and White. The book will be sent to several different commercial printers, and the requirements of the Black color profile are different for each printer. Some printers require CMYK and others have different requirements. My question is... The entire interior, consisting of body text, shapes, vectors, etc.) is black and white, and I need everything the same Black color profile. Currently, most of the body text is at CMYK 82-74-62-93, but I'm noticing that it is not a very rich black. Do I have to manually go into each text box / vector / graphic / page by page, and make sure each is on the correct Swatch? Or is there a way to make the entire document the same Black color - as needed? I noticed if I go page by page, highlight all of my layers, and click to a Black Swatch i've created (for instance CMYK 60-40-40-100) it will create a fill for some of my vectors, where there shouldn't be, and then I have to manually go into that graphic and turn the fill off. Additionally, sometimes doing that also creates a thicker stroke on the text, where there shouldn't be, instead of just turning that text to the Black CMYK color. FYI - I'm new to designing for Print, but not new to design Thank you for your help!
  5. Greetings, Thank you for your replies. I figured out that I had to switch to a single page spread (from which I originally made the document). For some reason, when I switched over to the two page spread, the hyperlinks and their anchors did not carry over, and I could not export without the error message. Back to the one page spread layout, the hyperlinks do indeed work, though I had to create an entirely new TOC manually, just to make sure the hyperlinks would work when anchoring them to chapter headings.
  6. Greetings, I'm having an issue with Hyperlinks.. I have a book in a two page spread, with a TOC (I made manually) that has hyperlinks twhich anchor to chapter pages. I keep getting an error message that says "an error occurred while exporting to:" while trying to export ALL PAGES, PDF, with the check box 'include hyperlinks.' Without checking hyperlinks, I can export the document just fine, but when I check it, I cannot export the book. Can someone please offer some advice?
