I have both Windows Defender and McAfee virus protection programs. I ran scans and got clear results. I will try turning them off and seeing if Affinity will launch.

Now here is an interesting twist. I went to the Affinity site and downloaded the free trail version. Upon trying to launch it nothing happened. So I clicked "Run as administrator". I got the box that said "do you want this software to make modifications to your computer". I hit yes. The box vanished and again nothing. I am clueless at this point. I really like Affinity and I want it back up.

Yes I did. The folder where crash reports sit is blank.

Thank you Walt. I did look at that thread. I do not have any of those third party apps on my PC. My problem is not so much that Affinity is crashing, rather it is just not starting. I will click on the Affinity icon, or click on the actual application exe and other than my cursor switching to the hour glass for less than a second then nothing. I even tried clicking on the latest update download and the previous update download. Exactly the same response. A quick hourglass then the cursor returns to the normal arrow. No messages, no errors indicated. Nothing.

This is not a continuation of that earlier problem. On that issue, apparently a few days later a new update came out and it loaded fine. The present problem just occurred a few days ago. The program has been running just fine with no problems. I went to launch it the other day and got no response at all. The only possible new software was a renewal of McAfee virus program, but supposedly that had been running for the past year. I did search the directories for Affinity and did not find any error logs. I also tried launching the program from the Application itself with no different result. I am very open to suggestions at this point.

After enjoying Affinity Photo for the past year, all of a sudden I can no longer launch it. Clicking on the desktop icon shows about a 1 second hourglass then nothing. I tried reloading the latest and even the previous updates and got exactly the same result. A quick hourglass then nothing. No messages, no errors, nothing. I am running on Windows 10 64 bit Pro version. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

When I try to run the 1.7.1 update, I get a box with an UPDATE button. I press that and it churns for a second then comes back with "SETUP FAILED". I am using Windows 10, 64 bit, with the latest updates. Anybody have any suggestions?
