Well then I guess I'll just go and crop the documents in Photo. I had everything in an artboard and the client wanted the entire document cropped. I go to use the crop tool and it wouldn't crop anything. Click, drag, crop...

Almost there, thank you all for your help!

I'm trying to get the middle areas of the A and the R to be transparent on that pink wall. The client wants these colours, she wants a "Prince of Bel Air feel". So I'm playing with the gradients, but I'm trying to get them all uniform, I tried to select all the letters at once and apply a gradient, but I'm missing something, so each one looks a bit wonky.

Am I missing something? 

I go to the Layers Panel, and I can't flatten them. Instead, I have to go to Layers>Merge Down or Merge Visible or Merge Selected.

[Cloning and Healing Tool Brushes]

Allow us to create cloning and healing tool brushes by utilizing the right click or control/option/command to easily create different brushes. It took me a bit to find out how to create these by going into More. Also figuring out how to find the modes like, Lighten, Darken, Multiple, was hard to find. These should be on the top of the screen, easy to locate.

Also, I couldn't rotate the brushes or save them. It only allowed me to rotate one way and not the other.

Now I'll admit to being new to AP, coming from PS. But when I go to Liquify Persona, select the tool I want to use, nothing happens. 

• Mac Pro Mid-2012
• OS 10.12.6
• 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
• 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
• ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

Anyone else having this problem? I looked at the video tutorial for help and I'm selecting the correct layer.

UPDATE:

Ok, now it's working! But when I use the freeze tool, it still grabs the area that I don't want to adjust. Is there a fix for this? I attached an image to show what I mean.

We already have received a few reports of slowdowns/lags after the update to v. 1.7. Most of them are related with Metal compute acceleration. We are looking into this. You can try turn it off in Affinity Photo Preferences, Performance section (on bottom) to see if things get better/speedier for you.

I'm having the same issue, the Impainting Brush tool lags so much I have to wait for it to catch up.

[Scanning Within Affinity Designer]

There is no way to Aquire the scanner into Design. You can do this in Affinity Photo, but it would be great to save this additional step by allowing Design to access the scanners.

I was given a hand-drawn logo to make into a digital EPS. I used the pen tool to create a black outline. Now I want to fill in with colour and some gradients, but I won't let me. I searched but couldn't find a solution. I've included screenshots to show you the layers(a few of them).

These add-ons where developed with Photoshop in mind and rely on Photoshop's features/scripting and/or on Photoshop SDK (software development kit) to provide such functionality. I don't know if you are already aware but Affinity Photo provides a basic built-in filter for Frequency Separation... (menu Filters -> Frequency Separation...). There's a video tutorial here covering how it works (it's for version 1.6 but it can be followed in v1.7 as well).

I believe some users also developed and shared a few frequency separation macros (for Affinity Photo) in the Resources section on this forum but I may be wrong. I will post them here if I find them.

Hello!

Like many, I'm seeing if Affinity Photo can work for me other than Photoshop.

I have MANY actions for PS, some will not work in AP, so is there a reliable source to get a good frequency separation action? For a few years I've been using this:

It allows me to adjust everything as needed. Of course, they aren't going to create one for AP LOL

I'm looking for a source that I get some actions to get me started.
