Yes the text is still editable (thankfully) however the only way to get rid of the text background is to type everything end. I’ve been had the problem but I just found this forum upon getting the 1.7 beta.

On several iPad Pro I have been experiencing a text glitch when I paste text onto my document it will have an unremovable white background. This limits my functionality because now I have to type everything to avoid a colored background on my text. Pics incoming
