  1. Hello there, sorry if this has been requested before but I searched and didn't find anything. I have attached a screen shot of how I like to layout Affinity Designer. I know it doesn't leave me much working room on my laptop but it gives me quickest access as I am learning the program. I have been an illustrator user for over 20 years so the transition is going smoothly considering the bad habits I have picked up along the way with adobe! One of the things I like about the 'Studios' concept Affinity uses is its simplicity in how it works. I would like to request the ability to have multiple studios on both the left and right if possible. This can enable more interface elements to be on screen in one go rather than changing interfaces as you need tools. I usually use the tab key to turn off the interface if I need more space but doing this with my current layout leaves me with a big area of desktop that I can't use. As I said, I'm sure it isn't for everyone but it does add to the flexibility of how people can use the interface in whatever way they choose. Thanks, Dan
  2. @owenr That's cool, I'm going to set me up a key command for that one Cheers - Dan.
  3. ooooh yea, well spotted! I only started taking Affinity Designer more seriously recently after a job change last year. I have been singing the praises of Affinity products in some of the circles I move in and can't wait for the publisher program and also the chance to get affinity designer onto an iPad too. 2014 seems like a lifetime ago! completely forgot about that post (I might even have a look at that udemy course again as well!) I do have trouble remembering what I did last week sometimes! All the best - Dan
  4. Hello there, first time poster on here. thought I would share an assets file and a method for storing and creating Artboards that I am using. I'm sure the ability to create custom presets for Artboards will come in a future update but for now here is the method I use. Apologies if it is used already, just wanted to share my workaround. In the assets file are several rectangles that correspond to paper sizes etc. (A0 to A5) and a few icon sizes I also use regularly. 1) Drag the rectangle that corresponds to the Artboard size you want into the canvas and position where you want a new Artboard. 2) Choose the Artboard tool and choose Size: selection from the context toolbar above the canvas and click the insert Artboard button. 3) Select the rectangle you used to make the Artboard in the Layers Panel and delete it (keep it if you need to. A Caveat: I find that if I don't have the Assets panel set to List mode I just have a series of rectangles in my assets panel and it takes a while to find what I need from it. Feel free to add your own rectangles/sizes etc. if you find this method useful in any way. I'm loving Designer by the way, can't wait until I no longer need to use illustrator any more not long now! Cheers - Dan

  6. Just signed up to this, just wanted to say thanks. It's always good to watch how someone approaches making different designs/artwork, it provides much more learning than a basic feature tour. Cheers, Dan
  7. I like to design things.
