  1. That is good to know. But it requires a manual intervention. The user has to check themselves, something easily avoidable with a small change to the process. (And yes, I am aware that small process changes can be a lot of work in code.) So currently there are two possibilities: 1. Either the app always shows news on startup. Subsequently the user has to scan the news manually to see if there is anything news in there. And then close the window. As most days do not bring new news items, this is a waste of time. 2. Prevent the app from showing news ons startup. Now a user is either missing out or has to regularly manually open the news window. This is again a waste of time and cognitive budget. What I propose is a third option, a hybrid. Here it is possible to prevent the same news from showing up, until there is actually something new, at which point the news window popups again (with new and old items).
  2. When starting an Affinity desktop app; a modal panel is shown with multiple informational screens. These screens inform about others Affinity products available, tutorials and downloadable freebies. This screen has be manually dismissed with a 'close' button on every startup, but there is a 'Show this panel on startup' checkbox that can bu unchecked hiding the panel forever. Neither behaviour is desirable. It would be better if the panel can be dismissed until a new screen is available. Then, and only then, it would pop-up again.
  3. What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? macOS Mojave 10.14.16 What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) When opening any Affinity app it mentions there is an update 1.7.3 available and shows 'Please visit the forum for the latest release notes'. However, the link does not show the release notes, but instead opens the commercial Affinity product web page. Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Open an Affinity product on version 1.7.2 while connected to the internet. Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. Attached are a screenshot of the app update screen and one of the webpage that opens.
