I have been using the original version of Affinity Photo and Designer since 2019 without any issues, but suddenly neither program will open. When I click on the icon it bounces up and down for a while and stops and starts again. Eventually the rotating Mac ball appears and my computer slows to a standstill and freezes so I can only restart it by pressing the on button at the back. I am using an iMac OS 13.0.1.

Hi Walt, On this particular document there are only two layers. Both are pixel layers. The bottom one is a photograph and the upper one is a shape also created in Affinity. I am using the eyedropper tool from the toolbar on the left, similar to the one in Photoshop. I don't believe I have ever used an Image Layer. What is most concerning is the freezing between operations. It is not a particularly large document.

I am using Mac OS 10.15.3. Whenever I use the the eyedropper tool it selects the colour and then just fills the entire document with the selected colour. When I try to undo this I have to wait several minutes before the Mac wheel stops rotating, effectively freezing the program. On one occasion I had to restart my computer as it also made the curser disappear. Since I installed the latest update of Affinity it seems noticeably slow during most operations.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I am on Mac. However after closing and re-opening Designer the problem seems to have resolved. It is a bit concerning as I don't know why it happened in the first place. I will put it down to just one of those things and hope it doesn't re-occur.

I am trying to use the CMYK Sliders in Affinity Design, but the sliders are obscured by by a large colour panel which makes them impossible to use. In all the other settings, RGB etc. the panel is smaller and underneath the sliders. I cannot remove it or make it smaller. Coming from illustrator this kind of glitch is very annoying. I am still using the the trial version. Please help.
