After creating a shape with the Star, Double Star, Square Star, Cog, or Cloud tool, with straight radial lines that double back on themselves, and a Round Join stroke, selecting Expand Stroke produces incorrect output. There are various ways to reproduce this bug, but here is one such reliable method. Create a document. Select the Double Star tool. Create a star. Give it a stroke, thick and dark enough that it's clearly visible, and ensure that Join is set to Round. Decrease inner radius to 0%. Select Layer > Expand Stroke. Some of the ends will now appear flat or concave instead of rounded. Before and after Expand Stroke (note the four flat ends, and the indented end at the top point): As with the other bug I reported today, this also occurs with the other radial shape tools: Star — inner radius and outer circle to 0% Double Star — inner radius to 0% Square Star — cutout to 100% Cog — tooth size to 0% and notch size to 100%, or vice versa Cloud — inner radius to 0% Affinity Designer 1.10.5 macOS 12.4 2019 MacBook Pro occurs with or without hardware acceleration no external hardware expand-stroke-bug.afdesign
