  1. Hi, I've recently made the jump to Affinity Designer and have been really impressed with the package as a whole especially considering the price - a real Adobe killer ;) I have a fairly good grasp of the fundamentals but cannot for the life of me figure out a very simple problem. I have a pixel layer with a grungy texture on it. I'd like to 'crush' the whites and the blacks to make it really contrasty and this is achieved simply enough with a levels adjustment layer. My problem likes in that as soon as I clip it to just affect the grungy pixel layer, the levels adjustment has no effect. If I unclip the levels adjustment and place it at the top of the layers stack it works, but of course it affects ALL of the layers in the project. Can anyone enlighten me to what I'm doing wrong?! As a long time Photoshop user, I would have simply pressed Ctrl+Alt+G to apply a clipping mask to the levels adjustment which would have then just affected my grungy texture layer and nothing below. I've seemingly tried all combinations of 'drop zones' when trying to clip the levels adjustment to no avail. Help!
