Hi there , First of all, Congratulations for this excellent soft (Affinity Designer)!! it's very useful, very easy & beautifull UI. i'm teaching many different softwares for students and i'm seriously considering teaching new software ( although some agencies are not all yet ready ...) i'm working for years in the industry of graphic design and was always looking for something like that (A.Deisgner) but Now ... when i see all the potential of these softs, i am wondering if you're going to do something for video editing/animation like After effects ? this would logically be a good issue for you. i know it's going to be hard but i know for sure that you can truly go further than After effects. Once more congrat , but wht next now ? Jacques Louradour

Hello forum and dear Affinity Team ;) Congratulations to your great software, I realy love it and it's the first time I didn't touched Photoshop and Illustrator since 1 month. And...I'm looking forward to never touch it again :P So here's my question: Is there any chance that I can leave After Effects untouched in the near future? Your software is very great, fast and reliable. Would be so great to put all this experience in a replacement for After Effects written by Serif. Thank you Pete

HitFilm 3 Express is currently available for free over on this site: https://hitfilm.com/express While HitFilm is generally a vehicle for filmmakers, it has compositing features that make it ideal for generating motion graphics. A few things to remember: ~ HitFilm does not accept the import of vectors. You'll have to export all vectors to .png files to use them as assets. ~ Hitfilm's mac version only works with OS X 10.8 or higher. ~ In HitFilm, you must create a composite shot in order to use keyframing and effects. Composite shots are similar to After effects' precompositions. HitFilm has two modes to create work in: the editing mode and the compositing mode. When your composite shots are complete, switch back to the editing mode and the composite shots are in the assets window ready to be dragged & dropped into the NLE. ~ Unlike HitFilm 3 Pro, Express only exports up to 1080p. Hope This Helps.

Just did my first simple project. The art was intended for use in Adobe After Effects. I need to keep the art as vector art and the layers need to be kept intact when imported into AE. Photoshop does not work because the vector art is rasterized. EPS does not work because the separate layers are not recognized by AE. To my knowledge, only native AI files work for this in AE. Thanks.
