Thanks @walt.farrell! But this is a little strange, isn´t it? The possition has an impact onto the size? ...is there a way to tell designer to make just integer pixel values possible?? At the moment I could not think about a situation why I should need half pixels... Thanks!

Hi there! I have the same issue from time to time... so I checked out the forum and found this thread! @walt.farrell So I tried to set my pixels to 3 decimals, but also in 3 decimals my artboard has a integer - but in export persona the dimensions are 1 pixel larger!? (see screenshots) Any other idea on this? In the file where the screenshots came from I have a number of copies of the same artboards. Some of them show this issue and some not! But all artboards are copies from the same one... Thanks for help!

Hi @callum I already added an example in my initial post. This 2 pdf-files are the same dokument exported as pdf 1.7 and pdf x4... and when I open them on my mac the colors do not look the same. Thanks Andreas

Hi! I did some projects with a printing company who asked to export my work as PDF X4 (CMYK of course). But I recognised, that if I export the same work in any other format, for example jpeg or other versions of PDF (1.7) I get quite different colors... can anyone explaint to me why? And should this be? Because any other format results in the correct color? Thanks for help! You are welcome! But the thing is, I never export to one of my clouds... ...and while I write those words I realise that I do export to a cloud! I forgot to mention another "cloud" I use!! -> I use the "synology drive client"! And every export is to one of this folders...! But in fact those are local folders synced in the background...so this should not be a real problem!? If I can assist with further information to help fixing this habit of a great piece of software, just don't hesitate to tell me how! Andreas

Hi there! I am writing, because in the last view months I constantly have the same issue with affinity designer. The procedure is always the same: I do some work I change to the export persona Pick the slices to export press "export"... then the finder window appears, where to export to... then I can click one or two times on some folders (very different every time) then the rotating ball appears while searching the desired folder in the finder window... ...then designer get stuck... This is not always the case, but very regularly. There is no difference in my behavior if this occurs or not. I send the crash repot a lot of times...but now I thought its time to tell you directly. Hope you can fix this, its really annoying. Thanks Andreas

hmm... if i open the "strange color" file and look into the doc settings i get this. My settings show CMYK and Iso coated... if I change to RBG...assign/convert is inactive...?

Thanks for you reply hangman! When I use color swatches I am never sure how to do it correct... Because if you hover on a saved color the values of this color are displayed. But independent of the document setup, the displayed values are showing HSL, RGB, CMYK or Pantone Values - all mixed up!? So what exactly is saved when a color is saved to a swatch? Is the color saved as the values which are used at the moment of saving?? Or are values saved dependent to the document i am in? Thats why my palette is mixed up a little... for this customer i use RBG documents (web) and CMYK documents (print)... most of the colors are defined while working for print...but some colors have to be optimised for web...so some RGB are mixed. But however the colors are saved exactly. I used the same colors I saved in a CMYK document in a new CMYK dokument...and got the mentioned results. This should not be - right? The top-left of your upper pics is the result I get...witch looks quite ugly Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone! I have a little problem using color swatches in affinity (across all three programms). I defined some colors and safed those in named swatches. To use the colors across all affinity tool, and to use it in some other software. The strange thing is now, that in some dokuments the colors are differently interprated then in others - also if i use the same color settings for the dokments sometimes i get the correct result and sometimes a different... Can anybody told me why this happens?? What I am not seeing here?? I will attach two designer dokuments, with the same color settings...but different results! Thanks for your help! hello! I have to shoot some paintings for a friend and therefore I would like to use a greycard or a colorcard to get the colors identical to the painting. but I can not find any tutorial or hint how I handle this in AP - maybe you can help! Thanks Andreas

Update: My solar system pic is in rgb...and i dont understand why. I added all 4 pics the same way!? (The only difference is a pixel mask I added to the image to hide some details - but the document profile is set to cmyk) The pic is from the printing company... Thanks! Andreas

Hello! I just made a business card to be printed by a local printing company with a online shop. On their website they recommend to use a bleed of 3mm and a specific color profile for cmyk (iso coated 300%). Installing the profile and setting the document to those settings are easy in designer! But at exporting I got some issues I do not understand completely, thats why I ask here: - In my document I have two artboards, one for front and one for back - I assume that the document settings are valid for all artboards in a document!? (color profile and bleed) - I exported my document as one PDF-file (with two sites in it, one for front and on for back). I exported as PDF x4, including bleed and crop marks, using the document color profile. - When I open the exported pdf (I work on a iMac), the pdf is of course bigger then the business card, because I added bleed and crop marcs, but the document is more then the 3mm bigger? why? The business card artboard is set to 85mm x 48mm and bleed is set to 3mm on each side...shouldn't be the exported PDF then 85+6mm x 54+6mm? When I set the view of the exported PDF to 100% the distance between the crop marks was correct, but the whole document was about 10mm bigger all around...no big issue, and maybe thats just a PDF-display thing, but I wanted to ask to understand whats going on here... - If i set a bleed, i cannot find a option to display the bleed around each artboard, maybe that would make things easier? - The second issue was, that the printing company told me that one of the two sides (remember, I exported one PDF out of one document) where in RGB...how can this be?? The only reason I can immagine are the inserted pics I used (made in affinity photo and exported as PNG in ROMM)...aren´t they converted to the document profile when placed in designer??
