  1. I'm very excited for Affinity Photo to become an "industry standard" digital painting tool, but there are a few things it needs first: - Color picker HUD (fly-out palette accessible while working on the canvas) - Customizable hot-key commands - Live rotate tool - Canvas flipping hot-keys. If those four things can be added to the software as it is now, there is no reason for digital painters to keep their exorbitant loyalty to Adobe. I for one am eager to get off the bank-busting CC subscription, and I know that Affinity is the imminent promised land once the aforementioned needs of digital painters are featured in Affinity Photo. Please feel free to add more items my fellow digital painters in this thread. I hope the Affinity staff takes note!
  2. If this is not implemented yet, please put it on the list - digital painters need to flip compositions regularly. I'm very excited for Affinity Photo to become an "industry standard" digital painting tool, but there are a few things it needs if they aren't hiding already within the application: - Color picker HUD (fly-out palette accessible while working on the canvas) - Customizable hot-key commands - Live rotate tool - Canvas flipping hot-keys. If those four things can be added to the software as it is now, there is no reason for digital painters to keep their exorbitant loyalty to Adobe. Thanks forum for your answers.
  3. I know it utilizes some fancy OpenGL graphics in Photoshop, so maybe Affinity Photo has not developed this feature yet, but is there any way to swivel the canvas around (in Photoshop one just holds 'R+Left Click' while doing so). As a digital painter, I feel like Affinity Photo is as good as anything (and much cleaner with the UX/UI than its older competitors), but a rotate tool is totally essential - please add it if it's not here already! Thanks forum.
  4. As in DAUB Bristles? How are these brushes functionally different than just "Painting" brushes?
  5. If there is any confusion as to what I am asking, this is what I'm trying to accomplish (or something similar) in Affinity Photo: a HUD picker.
  6. Is there any way to palette-pick colors on the canvas, such as the 'Control+Option+Command' operation in PS in which a color wheel flies out from the cursor location for quick color and tone selection? This is different than just holding Alt to sample colors in case there is any confusion with my question. Thanks for your help Affinity experts.
  7. Thank you very much - this is quite helpful. One more inquiry and I'll be up to full speed with my usual digital painting workflow: is there any way to palette-pick colors on the canvas, such as the 'Control+Option+Command' operation in PS in which a color wheel flies out from the cursor location for quick color and tone selection? This is different than just holding Alt to sample colors in case there is any confusion with my question. Thanks again.
  8. First of all, how do I repeat-undo in Affinity Photo in the first place? I am switching from PS CS6 to AP, and I like to set one of the buttons on my Wacom stylus to repeat-undo ('Command+Alt+Z' in Photoshop). But I can't find the keystroke options in AP. While I'm at it, how do I increase the history-limit in AP - gotta max that out always! Thanks everyone.
  9. Is there a proper way to do this? I simply opened a multi-layer PSD illustration I was working on from Photoshop CS6 into Affinity Photo and it all looks just fine, but I'm not sure if this was the ideal method to do so. Thanks!
