1. ## Corner radius results in a huge difference when using isometric grids

It's interesting that when I use the Rounded Corner Rectangle Tool, then it does create the correct corners regardless whether I set the corners first and then do the transformation, or I to the transformation first and then adjust the corners. I think the Corner Tool should work the same way.
2. ## Joining curves sometimes creates two vertices on top of each other. But sometimes it isn't. Why?

Hello, Sometimes when I want to join two curves, the join results two vertices on top of each other. The vertices do get joined, but in a way that two vertices end up being right on top of each other. At other times, however, the curves do end up joining at a single vertex. I cannot figure out why this is. In the attached video, I provided some description at the top. I am trying to join to ellipse halves. In the first case, I re-use the de-attached bottom curve and they do get joined in a single vertex. However, in the second case (on the right), I delete the lower half of the ellipse and duplicate and rotate the top half. When I try to join them, they do result in two vertices being on top of each other. Don't really understand why this is. What is the logic behind this - if any? Thanks. joining-curves.mov
3. ## Corner radius results in a huge difference when using isometric grids

Unfortunately, Illustrator doesn't have a grid system "generator" like ADesigner does. So in Illustrator I used actions so far to create various axonometric views (dimetric, trimetric, isometric, etc). Here I had to first create the top/left/right views and use the actions to transform them accordingly. I was happy to see that finally ADesigner's grid system is working and was hoping to easily create designs in various axonometric views. I was under the impression that I should be able to round corners after I projected the shapes, but of course that is not the case. In Illustrator I first create the correct top/left/right shape and then do the transformation. I was hoping I can adjust the shapes in ADesigner after the transform, but apparently that is not the case - after all, it is not a 3D program. Oh well... it seems I will have to create the correct shape frst in ADesigner as well, and then do the transform.
4. ## Corner radius results in a huge difference when using isometric grids

The correct way to transform an object (let's say a square) in the top isometric view is: Scale the object vertically 86.6% Sheer the object 30 degrees Rotate the object -30 degrees With this, I get the correct result in Illustrator, with correct corner radiuses. In ADesigner, I am not even getting the correct transformation (even if I try to do this manually), let alone the corner radius. So something is really off here.
5. ## Corner radius results in a huge difference when using isometric grids

Hello, I am curious what is the reason that the corner tool gives quite a huge difference for different corners in isometric layout, even if I use the same corner values. I have attached a screen recording of the issue. Create an isometric grid (regular or 2:1 ratio - doesn't matter) Set the grid size to 100px Set the grid division to 4. This would make every small division 25px. Use the Pen Tool to draw a square, by snapping its corners to the grid. Use the Corner Tool and set the radius for the top and bottom vertices to 25px. Use the Corner Tool and set the radius for the left and right vertices to 25px as well. Since the grid size is 100px and the subdivisions are 4 (= 25px), shouldn't the radius for the 4 vertices be the same (or at least close)? Yet, the left and right vertices result in a WAY greater corner size. Could anyone tell me why this is? Please check out the attached screen recording. Thanks. 6. ## Printing question

I was just looking for the same "feature". What can I say - something I have not said before...? Affinity continues to amaze me with their non-functioning feature set, that is left up to the customer to figure out whether certain things doesn't work due to a bug, or because they were put in there for "eye-candy" but not yet implemented. As a result, I have to waste time to come to the forums, start searching, maybe someone has already posted a question about the "issue" and maybe I can find out if the issue in question is a bug or simply a not-yet-implemented feature. For god's sake, why don't you just hide the un-implemented features and make them available when they are truly working and available!? My main tool is illustrator, but every once in a blue moon I start up ADesigner to see if it's in working condition yet. And every time I end up closing it. The "5 year in the making" constantly resonates in my ear. So if ADesigner was released in, what, 2014 (?) it means since 2009 you guys were working on putting features in the UI that doesn't work yet. Nice! (...sarc...)
7. ## Selection rectangle jumping when toolbars shown/hidden

This is still not fixed: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/20237-adesigner-the-whole-grid-and-design-is-shifted-after-show-context-toolbar/?p=94208
8. ## ADesigner: The whole grid and design is shifted after "Show Context Toolbar"

A picture worth a thousand words. Look at the attached file. Shows my settings for the grid and the results. When you create some lines using the pen tool and then do a View > Show Context Toolbar the whole grid and design will be shifted. See attached. STEPS: 1. Create a new document. 2. Use the pen tool to create a few lines 3. Go View > Show Context Toolbar 4. Awesome! Note: You don't have to create a grid, but if you do, notice on the attached screenshot that part of the grid is shifted up from the document (visible on the black area above the white document window.) Thanks for all the bugs, Serif team! Can I have my 50 bucks back now, please!? And why on earth wasting your time on a Windows version? You should be focusing on fixing the bugs first! El Crapitan 10.11.3 ADesigner 1.4.1 I'm so sorry I wasted my money on your products! I barely use them because every time I do a very simple task some bug shows up and I always have to fire up Illustrator CS5 on my windows machine to get something done. I can't believe you guys never heard of TESTING! What a useless eye candy! And no, I am not irritated and pissed about this single bug. I am irritated and pissed that you have DOZENS, if not more. ...5 years in the making... right... 4.5 years daydreaming and 5 months of coding is more like it...
9. ## [Fixed] ADesigner: Saved styles do not keep their settings

PROBLEM: Once you create and apply a style that has a stroke width specified, an incorrect stroke width will be applied to the path once you apply the style. To make things worse, the stroke width will vary depending on the zoom level. STEPS: 1. Use the pen or pencil tool to create an open path. 2. Set the stroke width to 5px (could be any value, but let's work with 5 for now). 3. No fill. 4. Select the path and in the Styles palette's menu select "Add Style from Selection" 5. Deselect the path 6. Draw another path using the pen/pencil tool 7. Apply the style you just created by clicking on the style. The stroke with will be 5px as you specified. 8. Select another style to apply to the stroke (doesn't matter which one). 9. And now select the style again you just created. 10. Notice the stroke with is now some other value (like 2.93px) as opposed to 5px. 11. Zoom in to the document 12. Draw another path using the pen/pencil tool 13. Apply your style you created. Now the width of the stroke is yet again something different. If I save a style with a specified stroke width, that stroke width should be applied to the path when I select the saved style. If the stroke width saved in the style is 13px, then once I apply the saved style to a path, the stroke width should be 13px regardless of zoom or other factors. That is the whole point of saving a style. ADesigner 1.4.1 OS X El Crapitan 10.11.3
10. ## "Reset" button in Brush palette doesn't reset brush settings

Open the Brush palette. 1. Pick a brush. 2. Modify settings 3. Click "Reset". Works. Now... 1. Pick a brush - brush A 2. Modify settings 3. Pick another brush - brush B 4. Go back and select brush A 5. Click "Reset". Doesn't reset brush A to it's original settings. APhoto 1.4.1 El Crapitan 10.11.3
11. ## APhoto: Why marquee does not snap to grid?

Thanks MEB, yes I do have ADesigner as well. However, when the grid is visible, all tools snap to the grid: selection brush (...and that's a selection too!) gradient tool myself (...aka pen tool) the various shape tools the text tool I'd say neither the pen tool, the shape tools, or the text tool is needed for photo editing (let alone RAW) but they still snapping when the grid is visible. So not sure why the rectangle/oval selection and the crop tools are not. That would be pretty basic stuff since the selection brush already snapping. Anyhow. Most of the time I just fire up my good ol' PC and work in CS5 or use Pixelmator/Sketch on the Mac.
12. ## APhoto: Why marquee does not snap to grid?

Thanks Alex. Yes it does provide a workaround. Although insanely tedious for any type of interface layout/design.
13. ## APhoto/ADesigner: Do not zoom new or opened docs to full view if they're small

Hi, This has been annoying for me ever since day one. I am using a 27 external monitor for my mini. When I create a new document or open an existing one, as long as the document size is smaller than the available viewport, the document will zoom to the full possible extents of the viewport. If you create or open a 32x32 pixel document, just for the sake of illustration, then your full viewport (nearly 2560x1440) will be filled with a huge white, empty canvas (in case of a new document), or with a pixelated blob (if an existing document). This is due to the fact that the document will be resized to the available viewport space. Why!? I understand that when a new or existing document is bigger than the available viewport size, it will be scaled so the full document will fit and be visible in the viewport. But if the new or existing document is smaller than the available viewport space, why can't the document just be opened at it's actual size and let ME (aka the user) decide whether I want to zoom in on it or not?
14. ## APhoto: Why marquee does not snap to grid?

Sorry for the premature question but I don't know why the selection marquee is not snapping to the grid, when the grid is visible? Usually when the grid is visible and snapping is enabled, the selection rectangle snaps to the grid as I draw the selection out. This is not happening in APhoto. Any reason why not or am I just missing something really obvious? Thanks.
15. ## Stroke Selection

Sorry, if this has been posted already (search didn't show up results), but would like to see a "Stroke Selection" feature in APhoto. Eg, create any combination of lasso, circular, rectangular selection and stroke it with a color and a specific point size. Thanks.
16. ## Back to photoshop ?

I totally agree, and get that...but...the app is being advertised both on the home page and on the AppStore that "...5 years in the making" not "1 year in the making". So that's 1/4 of PS development time. Taking into account that computers are at least 4 times as fast as 20 years ago, you guys had all the time needed to pull a full featured Photoshop in under 5 years. With that said, I want to see results not excuses! ...just nitpicking... :-) ...and practicing people management skills for my upcoming promotion... :-)
17. ## APhoto: Selection rectangle snapping

I hope this will be added soon. This is such a basic functionality and neither the selection nor the crop tool is snapping to grid.
18. ## [Fixed] ADesigner: Crash when changing PNG export dimensions proportionally

Great, thanks guys.
19. ## [Fixed] ADesigner: Crash when changing PNG export dimensions proportionally

Hello, I've downloaded a set of free vector playing cards (http://all-free-download.com/free-vector/free-vector-playing-cards.html). You can see on the above link that the different suites are in different files, so you need to download 4 files in order to obtain the full suite. Once I downloaded them, I've created a new file and placed all suites in this single file so they will be all in one file. I saved this file as an SVG and attached this file as a zipped file so you can test the issue. STEPS: 1. Unzip the attached zip file. The included SVG file was saved out from ADesigner v1.3.2. 2. Select any card. Let's say you select the first ace of clubs at the top left. This is a grouped artwork, as you can see in the layers palette. 3. Go to File > Export and select PNG. 4. At the bottom of the export dialog, select "Area: Selection without background" 5. Select all contents in the first "Size" text field (it should say "182 px"). Select the "px" units as well. Notice the proportional lock icon is closed, so the change will be proportional. 6. Type in a different size without the units, e.g. "181" and press TAB. 7. At this point a warning will be displayed in the dialog for a a brief moment, but you can't actually read it because the app will crash. For a brief moment, you will be able to see (right after you press the TAB key) that the other dimension text field (height) will become an erroneously huge number. Probably this what is causing the crash. SVG file and crash report attached in the zip file. ADesigner 1.3.2 OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks Mac mini late 2012 report-assets.zip
20. ## Recent items are not being cleared in dock icon context menu

Great, thanks!
21. ## Recent items are not being cleared in dock icon context menu

In both apps, the recent items are not being cleared from the dock icon's context menu. 1. Drag the app icons into the dock. 2. Start the app(s) and open a couple of images/documents 3. Close the app(s) 4. Open the app(s) again 5. Go to File > Open Recent > Clear Menu 6. Quit the app(s) 7. Right click on the app(s) icon in the dock. 8. The recent documents are still listed. This is a MAJOR privacy issue since other people can see what documents I have possibly created or worked on. To make it even worse, the file names are still showing up even if I delete the files from the drive. Clearing recent items under the Apple menu doesn't help. Neither logging out. This does not seem to be an OS related issue, since this seem to work for other applications. ADesigner and APhoto does not seem to remove these items. AD 1.3.2 AP 1.3.4 OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks
22. ## Double click Zoom tool: Zoom to 100%

Great, thanks!
23. ## Double click Zoom tool: Zoom to 100%

APhoto When I double click the Zoom tool, it should zoom the document to 100% - I'd say...
24. ## How do I measure distances?

APhoto I need to measure distances and I seem to be missing some sort of tape measure tool. So resorted using the selection tool and selecting the area I want to measure but I don't see any information either that would give me some sort of readout of the W/H of the selected area. I can see that the info panel is showing the width and height of the selection AS I DRAG, but as soon as I let the mouse/trackpad go, the readout for W/H disappears.
25. ## AP: Node "Snap all when dragging" doesn't work

The 'Snap all when dragging' toggle doesn't seem to do anything when working in APhoto using a curve node. 1. Use the Pen Tool to draw a curve/line segment. 2. Switch to the Node Tool and select a node 3. Turn on the 'Snap all when dragging' toggle in the top toolbar area 4. Start dragging a node or multiple selected node or their handles. Nothing seems to snap to anything. As the help file points out, this feature is independent of the main snap setting. The other two toggles ('Snap to selected curves' and 'Snap to off-curve nodes') seems to be working fine. APhoto: 1.3.4 OS X: Mavericks 10.9.5
