Thanks guys. I was looking at the vid for AP and thinking it was for Designer. You don't want to know how long I spent looking for that bloody Frame Text Ruler in Designer!!

I know I've seen it before somewhere but can anyone show me where the video tutorial on using tabs in Designer is. My old brain cant remember where I saw it and I cant seem to find a VT specifically for Designer anywhere!

Yup, I get that but I don’t need to change its actual colour to rich black, I just need it to display as rich black on the monitor, like illustrator can. If I change black to rich black and forget to change it back to true black, there will be print issues and problems with clients etc!

I usually use K=100 black but it always displays as grey-ish black on the monitor. I know it'll print just fine but I was wondering if there's any way of getting it to display as 'rich black', like in Illustrator?

Been waiting for years for Photo to open and edit Photoshop Mockup files that involve curved smart objects (like labels). Has there been any progress on this yet? It's the very last thing on my list that keeps Adobe products on my HD!!

Hi all Just wanted to let you guys know that when I turned on the PC this morning ready for a days work and launched Designer, Photo and Publisher, they all quit again just like before. Fast start is disabled since last time. Not sure what to do now as everything else seems normal.

OK, I can confirm that turning OFF fast start solves this issue! Will this have a negative impact on other apps on the machine?

Im not sure what Nvidia Surround is I just have 2 monitors setup in Windows Display Settings, same desktop on each but I can move stuff between them. Apps open on any one monitor. I usually have Designer on one and Photo on the other. I've used this setup for almost 10 years!

Hi Dan I've tried this and it still crashes. I've also removed the Nvidia drivers and re-installed some fresh ones, downloaded from their site. Same problem. The graphics card is a Quadro 2000 running a dual screen, 2560 X 1440 each screen. I think the clue is what the difference is between a cold boot and a reboot. Something is loaded / not loaded in one of them that's causing the issue.

Well, that is an interesting viewpoint. There is also a good possibility that the Affinity apps are doing something that they shouldn’t be doing that’s causing the video driver to crash. I have plenty of other graphics software on my PC that’s not causing a crash so my finger remains pointing at the Affinity suite.

Hmm. Every other app on the PC is working just fine (inc Adobe Suite). Only the Affinity apps are crashing, and only after the latest update..

Just to clarify, mine is displaying the startup panel with the ads and support forum links etc and then quitting an instant later.

Been using the suite for a long time and have recently updated to the latest version on Windows but I'm having a problem where the apps quit instantly after launch but ONLY after the first time the PC is turned on! If I reboot the machine after the first 'cold start', the apps are fine. I've removed and re-installed, repaired etc but nothing seems to help. Can anyone suggest anything please - this seems like crazy behaviour to me and I can't figure it out!! Just to recap; Switch on PC -- desktop -- launch any of the apps -- instant crash. Switch on PC -- reboot after reaching desktop -- launch any of the apps --working fine.

Thanks Lagarto, I just (2 mins ago) worked this out and am organising the documents in these layers right now. I don't really care about the layers being editable in illustrator - the last thing I want is for a printer to poke around the document and try and edit something in there - it's happened in the past and they always create a bigger mess than they try and solve!!

Just uploaded to the latest windows version of the suite and first thing I did was to export a bunch of artwork to a printer who called back and said that all the pdfs were flattened! I though I'd just messed up the 'export layers' button but I hadn't. I did another export and opened it in Acrobat and sure enough, no layers! Have I missed something? Is there some different method of layer export?

Aaah, I got it now! Thanks Ray - It's been driving me crazy, just couldn't see it!

2 lines are not connected so theres no corner yet!

Theres probably some really simple way to do this but I've got a bit of a mental block! I just need to create some shapes like a capital 'L' made of two straight lines but I need to have a round corner connecting them and I need to be able to control the corner radius. How do I do that. I'm using Designer..

How about you guys add an option to the launch panel (the panel that opens up showing samples, tutorials etc) that shows previously opened documents? I know that this can be had from the file menu but it would be quicker if you could just select that from a list immediately, as long as that list doesn't have to be selected to be seen every time you launch the apps, ie make the apps remember your choice to see the list or the other options already available. Anyway, just a thought!

That’s awesome. I’ve not investigated the Customise Toolbar section yet. Just sooo much to learn when you’ve switched to a new app!

With the layer selected, I think... Edit > Defaults > Revert is the best you will get --------------------------------------------- Only problem with this is that it's right next to the Factory Reset menu option and it's easily clicked accidentally. I just did it and its reset all my key combinations and menu shortcuts etc. Not sure which genius was responsible for a Factory Reset command with no 2nd tier verification to proceed or not...Bloody brilliant 😖

OK, that looks about the best we have. Not sure why it shrinks the text to a micron but its easy to drag it back up to what you need!
