Hey there iuli thanks for reply. I guess that all software has bugs/glitches that affect each of us in different ways, especially when it comes to the many different design spectrums and the digital tools we need/use to achieve the desired effect we envision. The streamlining of workflow is important and crucial for any graphic/commercial designer, bugs/glitches can make a big difference to your day in many ways. Affinity Designer for iPad is amazing and really, really nice to use, personally for me I’d be lost without it. I live in HOPE that one day there will be a major update addressing the bulk of the issues that are constantly being reported on this forum. cheers iuli

Hello there at serif, thank you for the update to 1.10.5. I’m not sure what the update was for but I would still like to address a couple of issues that are still present after the 1.10.5 update. 1/ when adjusting the stroke using the Apple Pencil 2, I still noticed that the stoke width doesn’t take. Seems to work better using your finger (see attached video). 2/ also when using the type tool using the ‘artistic’ or ‘text box’ tool, I can’t select word suggestions, they just won’t apply, it just moves the cursor forward one space. **Every other app on my iPad accepts ’word suggestions’, (see attached video) even whilst typing this to you on the forum I can select, it works. I have an iPad 4th gen pro and are using the Apple Pencil 2. I have reinstalled the app 3 times, Re-installed iPad iOS, updated iPad to latest version and hard started my iPad numerous times but nothing ever changes 🤬 *** The ‘text’ suggestion/replacement issue for me happened after the last update (October 2021), it was working perfectly before this. I guess this on is extremely frustrating as with most of my work I am using portions of type in my design projects. *** The instability issue with the ‘stroke weight’ setting has been happening for me since I purchased the app, sometime in 2020. Dear Serif, Again I’m raising this issue of Updates because as a devout user, every day in fact for my business, now correct me if I’m wrong but has it really been just over 4 months since the last iOSiPad update to 1.10.19? Guys and Girls at HQ I’m continually having issues that I have mentioned months ago that I believe have been sent to the Development Team. Now I’m not trying to rant and I’m not suggesting that all of my issues/bugs alone should be fixed as soon as they happen, but when are we expecting an update for iOSiPad to address those main pesky bugs and maybe even ‘some’ inclusions from the many suggestions that have been presented? Hey there iconoclast thanks for the reply. Yeah look your not wrong, the auto trace option would be great in Affinity Designer. There is one in Vectornator that I’ve tried but it seems pretty dismal. Thanks again for the Inkscape tip I think I’ll look at it. Cheers ……I took a look at Inkscape and it seems pretty good the only thing is I don’t have a computer and there doesn’t seem to be an app for IOSiPad.

Hey there iconoclast, thanks for the run through, I didn’t know that about the brushes. This is great food for thought, and yes I was able to replicate the simple brush stroke by creating a vector stroke…tapering the ends and the creating outlines to subtract from the solid layer below exposing the solid layer below that. Lee D made a good point as this would be great with more complex brush shapes that would take quite sometime to draw out with the vector pen/pencil tool. Cheers and thanks for those words of wisdom. . Hey there Lee D, ok I’ll give this a try. This would indeed make it easier for mor complex brush shapes. I was able to replicate the brush shape using a stroke and tapering off the ends, then expand stroke and subtract from solid the layer beneath to get the desired effect. Thanks for your suggestion. Hey there @serif, thanx for a great product. I’m wanting to create outlines on an object so I can ‘subtract’ from a solid layer below to use as an area to be cutout from this layer. Now I have created a ‘circle’ and then applied a ‘brush stroke’ and then went to ‘convert to curves’ and then to, ‘create outlines’. The latter two options don’t seem to apply. Thank you! Ok NotMyFault, I did try again after restarting the app and found I did not replicate the problem. All seems good 👍

Ok I’ve created a simple box shape then knocked out the fill and left the stroke. I then went and selected ‘create outlines’ and ended up with multiple anchor points. I also tried the other way and selected ‘convert to curves’ then ‘create outlines’ and ended up with the same issue of having to delete endless amounts of anchor points. I also created the shape using the ‘pen tool’ and went thought the above procedure and enduro with the same issue. What am I doing wrong?

Hey there @serif thanx again for app. I have a suggestion for the Dev Team. I see that you can ‘unlock’ a particular layer or multiple layers by selecting the lock icon then it disappears, now instead of going back behind the layer to ‘lock’ again why doesn’t it just stay there for a simple tap to ‘lock’ selected layer/s. I guess it just makes things simple and practical from a design perspective. Cheers

Hey there at serif hope all is well! Im using the iOSipad version 1.10.19 iPad Pro 12” 4th gen. I’m trying my hardest to be nice, not shout and especially, not rant. it’s been I believe 3months since there was an iPad update, please correct me if I’m wrong. I have updated my iPad to 15.3. I have reinstalled app twice in December and I’m still having issues that I have been reporting for a while now. When are we expecting an update???? This is a really friggin great app to use, please, please update!!! Thank you

The text replacement options not working on either keyboard in IPadIOS. When you select the replacement text all it does is leave a space and not replace the word you’ve selected.

Hey there @serif, it would be great to have the option to export selected or entire projects folder, similar to using the export persona. At the moment you have to export each one individually and this can take time.

Looking over the other posts here, there seems to be a fair whack of issues with Affinity Designer on iPad. Personally I’m continuing to have issues with ‘text suggestions’ not working on the the keyboard with 4th gen iPad Pro, one I raised a while ago, the never ending and bloody frustrating issue with ‘stroke weight’ using the Apple Pencil 2 for God knows how long and the app ghosting out on me for what seems to be such minor tasks like opening a doc, one that I’ve opened many times before with no problem at all, opening documents to find ‘stroke paths’ out of alignment and so on! With that said, its frustrating using an app with great potential but on the other hand lets you down everyday for weeks on end. Serif iPad Development Team I use your product as a tool in my inventory to make a living so PLEASE try address some of the issues and the constant ones on the forum, after all what’s wrong? Do you have to have a certain amount of issues/bugs before you can do an IOSiPad update? I don’t know, maybe I’m just expecting too darn much! Yours faithfully, Addicted to Design 😁

Yes Alfred as the ‘expand stroke’ is what’s needed for a piece of ‘text’ with stroke applied after converting to ‘curves’ for the use in cnc machines and other high end print outputs correct? I’ve found after applying ‘create outlines’ you then, select both layers and ‘add’ them or weld them together. I’m not sure in AI but with AD it leaves behind unwanted nodes that need cleaning up otherwise cnc machines cut these minute bloody holes all over the place. Selecting a layer when visible turned ‘off’ helps spots the annoying things. Is there a clean-up function or am I really pushing it? Also a ‘pen or pencil’ select option would be great to get at nodes around curves and so on.

Ok…..this is such a time consuming effort as I have done in the past. Copy over selected nodes would be easier of cause!

I’ve created a star with a maximum of 48 points, then I selected ‘convert to curves’ , then I ‘created outlines’ and ended up with this. What Is with all the nodes?

ISSUE: When I want to “place image” and have quite a few images on my canvas, especially with multiple art board projects, and maybe I’m just getting old, but at times I forget what images I have so I select “cancel” to exit and go back to the GUI, study my images again and then go back to find the appropriate image. REQUEST - Is there a way we could have the option to “place an image” search our own Photos, Flies App or External HD via the “stock studio” I mean the only things in there are “pixels and pixabay” This option would allow a mini window to view images instead of canceling “place image” and going back to the GUI. This option would also increase workflow, keep you in the App and allow you to compare images in you canvas. Cheers and keep up the great work!

Hey there @serif I’ve noticed as you type and word suggestions appear, when I select the replacement word all it does is disappear and leave a space after the word I am typing. I move the curser back up to the word it seems to create new suggestions based on the continuing text. I have tried this in other apps and it works fine. I’m using an iPad Pro 4th gen, Apple Pencil 2 & Affinity iPad Ver: 1.10.19 Cheers @serif and keep up the great work. 😉👍

Hey there @ serif, just wondering why it is when I select nodes to copy over to new layer or another project every node on that layer copies over too! Is there a way I can copy to a new layer and if so how?
