Where is the Document Menu?
Humbucker replied to Humbucker's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Walt, In Affinity Designer 2 if you hit the Help Menu there's nothing in there if you search Font Manager. However, if you do an online search for how to get to Font Manager it takes you here: https://affinity.help/publisher/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Text/fontManager.html?title=Font Manager I see it says publisher in the link now, but if you click the link not looking at the URL the instructions are confusing. This is what I was looking to get answered. I wondered if it's possible to switch certain fonts on or off, and or group fonts in the upper left Font Family dropdown. Is there an option like that on AD2? I need to manage a lot of fonts and Alphabetical order seems to be the only way. -
Saving versions of work.
Humbucker replied to Humbucker's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Walt & Henry, Thank you both for responding! I can use both of your suggestions, and will give them both a go to see what works best in my situation. Here's how I've been doing it. I group the draft I want to keep, and name it something like Version 1, then I duplicate it, and keep Version 1 right on top of all my layers. Next I ungroup the copied version and keep working until I get to Version 2 and repeat the process. Pretty soon I have several versions I can compare by switching on and off in the layers panel. I guess necessity is the mother of all invention. lol! Thanks again! -
Is there any way to save versions of work in a workflow? In other words, if I'm working on a project, and at some point identify some stage of my work as a point to return to for reference, is there a way to save this spot so I can return to it with a click, then be able to return to my current state of work without losing any history data? Often I make several finished rough drafts in my workflows, but have no way to save versions or organize these points in my working history for reference without demolishing my working history.

AD2 History Question.
Humbucker replied to Humbucker's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Duuuuude! Playing with that feature I see how it works! I would have never even noticed that icon much less known what it was. Solved. Thank you! ð -
If I roll the History position back several moves to see an earlier version of my work and as much as touch an object, all of the work I have done beyond the current point gets lost. Is there a way to preserve all my subsequent moves if I make an edit at a midway point?

Ahh, I'm being overly dramatic insinuating this was the only reason I upgraded to AD2. I need to upgrade anyway. I'd be behind the curve in 3 months if I didn't get a head start on AD2. Serves me right for not listening to PE. lol

@MEB Wow! Thanks for the tip on working between AD and PD! This simplifies my workflow, and is probably the most straight forward work around. Thank you. ð

Thanks for the insight on the work in progress. On the second part: Or maybe use precise language in marketing with a few words like "only with vector files."ðĪŠ

Noob here. So will the warp tool work on images or no? Affinity Photo1 has a killer feature I use all the time for warping images. I can't imagine the designers not building this in to AD2. The warp tool on Affinity Designer 2 for images, not shapes was the reason I bought the upgrade.
