Gunny
I'm afraid I lost track of all the Targa threads so here's another one... It's nice to see some Targa support but I think Targa is mostly used as a low level format so people who use it require complete control of the data - both RGB and alpha. That's why I think Targa file should be loaded as two separate layers - an RGB layer with transparency set to 255 and a mask layer with alpha. (Maybe it could be optional.) This way you could easily see the RGB values of invisible pixels with alpha set to 0. The same logic applies to export too - RGB should include the untouched colour values of the masked layer. If it already includes an alpha channel the alpha should be transferred to Mask channel (i.e. multiplied) and the RGB values should be kept untouched (or maybe somewhat normalized).
