How to convert smooth nodes to corners

Recommended Posts

As an Illustrator user, I could convert a smooth bezier curve to a sharp corner by (on the mac) by holding down the option key. Then the two handles behaved independently of each other. On the Mac version of Designer, one can do the same, but I haven’t figured out how to perform this operation on the iPad version. What am I missing?

I discovered the answer to my own question! Using the Apple Pencil, you grab the node’s handle, then touch a fingertip to the screen. This acts as the Affinity Designer equivalent of the option key on a Macintosh. So simple, and yet so obscure.

You can also select Node tool, select the node and tap Sharp in the context menu. :)
