Danielsan2020
Hi, to check text dimensions for Facebook ads, is necessary use a % value in grid. In Photoshop is possibile set grid to 20% and it show a grid that have 5 box in vertical and 5 box in horizontal. It be able me to check text dimensions that will not be occupy over 5 box (both horizontal and vertical). In Photo and Designer this isn't possible. Can you evaluate to release this feature? Thanks Daniele

fde101
@Danielsan2020, welcome to the Affinity forums! I would actually think this feature would be more useful in Designer than in Photo... In Designer you could theoretically have the percentage values scale based on the size of an artboard. Since artboards can be different sizes, this would mean the grid would adapt to the different sizes of artboards rather than needing to be set separately. I agree, if you are working at a fixed resolution as would be typical with a file in Photo, this should give the same effect and isn't that much more complex to set up. Danielsan2020
What I see is that I can set the grid size in pixels, but the grid will always be square rather than rectangular (like Facebook ads images) I cannot set different values between base and height. Now I solve by creating a vector grid in the Designer. I import it and fit in my artboard. But it's too time-expensive. But if exist a short way to do same result, I'll like any suggest Still with regard to adaptable grids, it would be good to create a predefined grid for the rule of thirds, the golden rule, and all the rules suitable for photographic cutting (a bit like what happens in lightroom)

It is listed as "Square custom" for me, but it doesn't need to be square. There seems to be a bug though: for some reason there is a vertical offset from the axis origin to the first grid line: Also, while you can do math in the spacing fields, the nice "sw" / "sh" variables don't work there. If I type "sw/5" it has no effect, though "8.5/5" correctly sets the grid spacing to 1/5 of the 8.5" page width, and "11/5" to 1/5 of the 11" page height (but with the unfortunate offset). Happens with metal compute on or off. It would be nice to get the variables working too.

fde101
@Pšenda... that is kind of interesting... I wonder if this terminology difference is a Mac vs. Windows or maybe a UK vs US English thing (I'm on a Mac using US English)? I see that yours is also labeled "Grid type" where mine says "Mode"...
