Apple insisting it is Affinity's fault...

Where have they said this? They should know better it is all their ecosystem, and purchases are all through their Apple IDs. If they said this to you they should know that is not how the store works. I suggest that you ask to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about to help you perhaps find your other Apple ID that has these applications.

Have you lost any other applications?

See if you have any Apple receipts with a (subtly?) different email address, for example as far as Apple are concerned my.name@gmail.com is not the same as myname@gmail.com or myname@googlemail.com or even my.name+apple@gmail.com, even though all those will arrive at the same gmail inbox.

Don't buy them again!

Provide Apple with your app store receipts. They can sort this, surely

It may be that Apple have sorted this problem for you already, but if not, here's some unproven but maybe useful info....

We think this is relevant, and the work around is to "purchase" an Apple developed app like Pages and all your other apps will reappear. You won't be charged for the free Apple app, but it seems to "find" your account doing this.
