The inner ellipse appears to be the same proportion as the outer ellipse when in fact shouldn't they be different? 'Donut' would appear to be another name for 'Annulus' and the distance between the inner and outer ellipses should be the same all the way round. However it doesn't always follow and in very thin ellipses the 'rule' above collapses and in perspective they aren't even ellipses! See my drawing. In a true Donut/Annulus the inner and outer 'ellipses' are not true ellipses since the ends on the major axis are part of a circle and not an ellipse. It's not going to be changed now. What was the reason for creating the Donut feature in the first place when it is no different to using two concentric ellipses? However if you don't want a solid shape like this then you would have to apply 'Expand stroke' and create a double ellipse which is what I have been doing.
