Staff Chris B Posted October 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 9, 2019 It sounds like a rare case! When you drag the tool out and the screen flashes, a small box of text appears next to your cursor—can you tell me what it says? It might give me a clue! Staff Chris B Posted October 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 9, 2019 Ah okay—maybe that's not too relevant, then. Have you tried on different images from different sources? For example, if you drag an image out from the Stock Panel. I think it may be relevant If you copy the layer first then enter crop and do a straighten on the image then do a paste the straightening is immediately reversed (canceled) The question is where is that paste coming from in the OPs video? Staff Chris B Posted October 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 9, 2019 I'm beginning to wonder what we would do without you carl123 I think you may be onto something. Perhaps pop83 has some sort of shortcut manager running? It's a shame we cannot see the Layers Panel on the video. @pop83 - could you check to see if this is the case, please? pop83
Chris and carl123, Thank you for your support. I could do straighten after I added a layer (happen again after delete layer). But it was not happen previously, it's curious. I did not use shortcut manager ...or I'm afraid I'm using without knowing? :-D I will check application updated within last few weeks. Thank you! WSS
On 10/8/2019 at 10:03 PM, pop83 said: straighten_failed.mov Is it rare case? Exactly same thing here. Straighten and Rotate function does not work on version 1.7.3. MacOS 10.14.6 on Mac Book Pro. Reading the posts carefully I noticed that for me also "paste" after using the straighten tool. I noticed that what makes "paste" is a Mac application called PopClip Recently (09/29/19) PopClip was updated when my problems started. Turning off PopClip everything in Affinity Photo is back to normal. Hope this helps. Edited October 10, 2019 by WSS I found the solution. Staff Patrick Connor Posted October 10, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 10, 2019 @WSS Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums Well I am pleased that worked for you, and perhaps that will help others in this thread. Thanks for your useful first contribution. Are you using a paid version or a free version of PopClip? pop83
WSS, I'm using PopClip, too! Thank you for your info. I want to use PopClip so I will avoid this by adding layer.
Staff Chris B Posted October 11, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2019 Thanks for discovering the culprit! I've just installed the free trial and reproduced the issue. I then poked the settings in PopClip and noticed we could 'Exclude Apps' so I added Affinity Photo and I can no longer reproduce the issue.
