Can this be re-created in Affinity Designer?

I can see that those shapes are simply cut and shifted horizontally. I'm mainly asking about the beautiful natural-looking shadow below each side. I'm wondering if there are any tutorials out there which can explain how to do that.

Okay I need help with shadows. How does one get a sharp edge on one side, and it continually blurring? I'm looking at the shadow, and I see a sharp shadow edge where the shadow would be most defined. Then, I see it fade out and blur. How does one achieve this?

I tried to do this a few ways – shadows, gradients, shapes, blurs, blend modes – but nothing gave me a satisfactory result so I would be very interested in learning how to do this too. The techniques used by dutchshader (above) are interesting but, specifically, it’s the crisp start to the shadow as pointed to in my attached image that I’m trying to recreate without any overlap of the coloured shapes (as seen in the original).

Conical gradient. Yes, I think that’s what’s needed.
I’ve also added a blurred duplicate over the shadow and it’s getting there, but it doesn’t feel quite right yet.
More experimentation required I think, but thanks for the tip.
