V1.7 .afphoto files are <untitled>

Recommended Posts

When a V1.7 file is opened there's an option to continue editing or make a copy - if the option to continue is selected the file's opened as "<untitled>".  The copy option is OK.

Yes, I already complained about this, a "fileName" + "_modified" would be better than "<untitled>" (since it had a name!!!), having to search the original folder to get back the original file's name, copy the path to replace or save it as a new file at the same location is annoying.

It's worst when you used a global search to open the file from the results (you didn't opened the folder).

It's worst since AP/AD/APub always want to save in the last used folder instead of the file's folder (we end up with files saved in the wrong project's folders and need to move them).

We have made fixes/improvements to this area ("Make a copy" and "Continue" buttons when opening a non-beta project file are reversed) of the program in the latest beta release of Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer on Windows. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. Once Affinity Publisher has been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update to all customers.

The 1.8.0.514 beta builds are in links at the top of these beta forum posts
