Rocketdrive
Just had a spooky thing going on: every time I wanted to save a doc from Affinity Designer, Windows crashed and rebooted. I started isolating the problem, thinking that it might be a certain file. Turned out it was Designer, no matter if it was an existing file or a freshly created one. Opening the designer files in Publisher, and saving them as publisher files worked without problems. Right now I uninstalled Designer (Windows store version). Maybe it was a Windows thing. The system is known for suddenly doing weird sh*t for no apparent reason, so I can't rule anything out. Has anyone else had similar problems? I'll reinstall AD from the store and see how it goes. Rocketdrive
I reinstalled AD from the store. The first attempt to save a document on the desktop crashed the system instantly. Where do I reset the AD prefs? This is a small disaster as long as I can't use the app, I have migrated all print and design related materials of a client to Affinity apps. Rocketdrive
Next crash: I found out that holding CTRL can reset prefs. Did that. System went boom. Bad.
Rocketdrive
Now Designer won't even start, but just bring the system down.
Rocketdrive
From the "Apps" page in windows settings I found an "advanced" page for AD, where I tried "teminate", "repair" and "reset". Trying to launch AD ... You guessed it the next crash and restart. I am running out of ideas here.

walt.farrell
To confirm, is it Designer that is crashing, or Windows itself? If it's Windows, what error information is Windows providing, and what kind of crash is it? Rocketdrive
A complete system crash, as if the plug was pulled. Windows events report a critical error, but without a lot of information.

Rocketdrive
Doing a system restore right now. So annoying when You go from a perfectly tuned and working system to the rabbit hole that windows troubleshooting can be. Especially when, I’m pretty sure, it wasn’t me messing with the system Move Along People

Rocketdrive
Hi @DWright, I found this folder: AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Designer\1.0 (Store)\CrashReports But unfortunately there are no .dmp files inside. I have hidden and system files visible.
