Stevengale
Hi, Just getting going with Publisher and am finding most of the fonts on my Mac are just plain boring and lame. Over the years I've attempted to add some decorative fonts but ended up with a huge list of really lame looking alphabets. I'd like to start over and just have nice pretty, usable fonts primarily for making greeting cards, posters, mugs etc. Problem is, a bunch of the fonts on the machine currently are not deletable or I have to do them one by one which will take probably a thousand or two thousand years.... Any ideas on a relatively painless way that I can clean house font-wise and add back just the ones I want without having all these bizarre foreign fonts that seemed to have infested my font folder? Thanks
Staff stokerg Posted October 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 4, 2019 HI Stevengale, I can only really recommend the default font manager on Mac, Font Book to manually remove the fonts you don't need. Another Forum member maybe able to recommend a 3rd party app which has a few more features and can bulk remove fonts. mac_heibu
catlover
Here's an article on Font Management in OSX. It might be of help to you. I recommend you read it before deleting any system fonts. I did not delete any system fonts, I just moved the ones I don't need, using the finder to a new folder, named "Moved system fonts". That way, I can always re-install them if needed Other than that, I use "Fontbase" (free) as a fontmanager, pretty good, but still not able to bulk-delete fonts. For that, you'd have to use the finder I think. Font Management in macOS.pdf
