Kawaiikitten
Hi, I tried using the blur brush but even at max flow and opacity it's not working, I'm running ver 1.7.3 on a mac, ver 10.14.6 Mojave. any help would be greatfully received. AffinityJules
Have you selected the layer that you wish to apply the blur on from the layers panel? Quote Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. These are not my own words but I sure like this quote. IanSG
Try turning the opacity and flow up to 100% - the blur brush can be quite subtle. Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
drmajorbob
The blur and median blur brushes do NOTHING at my machine, and I think it's been that way since 1.71 dropped, maybe longer. I'm now on Catalina (wasn't then) and I have an eGPU (didn't then). I've seen little or no sign you're taking advantage of the eGPB, by the way, but the blur brushes are my concern for now. The blur brush is very subtle, for me, but it works (on Windows). To make sure it's not just a matter of it being too subtle for the images you're trying it on, here's a sample that should be able to prove whether it's working: You should be able to save that from the forum, then Open in AP and display it at 400% zoom. Set the Blur Brush to 33px, 100% opacity/flow/hardness, and make sure you have the pixel layer selected. At that point, if you move the brush over the image you should see something like this, with a blurred circle where the brush is: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. h_d
There's an issue with Blur Brush on Mac with Metal Compute enabled. It manifests itself as an occasional transparent brush preview and no change to the image when the brush is used. Turning off Metal Compute (Preferences - Performance) and restarting seems to be the only work-round. I too have the invisible brush effect but the blur, and other brushes do do what they are supposed to do.
