Trying to install affinity designer update 1.7.3.  Runs most of the way through, then crashes my win 10 PC (fully updated) with error message REGISTRY_FILTER_DRIVER_EXCEPTION - IFS64.sys.  Tried twice now, same failure.  No other issues with my PC or installed software, just this update.  Anyone able to help?

For now have re-installed v1.7.2 which works fine.

Thanks in-advance

The Affinity applications and installers aren't able to cause a BSOD, as they are user-mode applications. Only kernel-mode applications (i.e. drivers) are capable of that.

Do you have AShampoo Uninstaller installed? IFS64.sys seems to be related to that. It looks like they install a (kernel-mode) driver for some reason. If you do have it installed, could you try disabling / uninstalling it and trying again? If that works, could you let us know what version of AShampoo Uninstaller you had installed, so we can add it to the list of 3rd party software with known issues thread (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/44770-issues-caused-by-third-party-software/).
