Joao Silva
So.. i have quite a lot of fonts.. and i have added them to the Designer app. Whenever i check the fonts on settings->fonts it always crashes when the scrolling hits the 50th one.. +/- it just collapses and goes directly to the iPAD's home screen. In order to replicate this crash... you will have to add a few fonts (100+)... It's doesn't crash when scrolling the fonts on the main design tab... just on the settings menu (where we actually add and remove them to the system). This is making me not being able to remove some fonts that are not actually needed (it crashes before i can select them) I also have bought the PC version.. and there all works fine just not on the iPAD. I am using a iPAD Pro 2018 with the latest version of Designer software
Staff Gabe Posted September 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 30, 2019 Hi @Joao Silva, Welcome to the forums. The crash is most likely caused by a specific font, and not by exceeding a set number of fonts. I've installed 100+ fonts and it's still fine. Can you try this, please? Download iMazing - https://imazing.com - The free version is what we need Make a full backup of your iPad Once that's done, go to File System (on the left side) > Backup > App Groups > AppDomainGroup-group.seriflabs . Right click on Fonts and Copy to Mac Copy the file somewhere on your mac Zip the file and attach it here so we can log it with our developers Thanks, Gabe. Joao Silva
Sorry for my delay in replying... i don't seem to have received a notification about this on my email... i think... Well.. i recall to have said 100+ fonts... eheheh... weeeelllllll ... now that i am looking at them on the software you have mentioned... they actually are about 2600 fonts.. eheheh... (all are licensed though) and the thing is... that some of my licenses to use the fonts commercially forbid me to send the fonts in the clear even for developing purposes (some do allow.. but many do not). Is there any log file i can get from the software i can send instead? I realized that all serif's apps crash (Photo and Designer) everytime i pass a certain font's name on the list (even if i delete previous fonts on the list)... so.. this is probably a issue with the next front on the list. Is there a way to remove the fonts using any other trick? Also.. i have realized that if you try to add the same font twice.. the app adds it (it should not), also.. the app organizes the fonts alphabetically.. but only by importation session.. this means that if you do 2 or more importation session of fonts.. the fonts will be organised alphabetically twice (or more) as well per session... welll...lemme explain it better.. (my native language is not English... so.. this is a little hard to explain)... ... for instance.. if you import your fonts 3 times (let's call the imports as "sessions"). On session one you import A1 B1 and C1 font... then on session two you import A2 A1 B2 and C2 fonts.. and on session 3 you import A3 A2 B3 B1 and C3 font. Then on the font list (app menu -> settings -> fonts)... the font's name will be organized alphabetically as A1, B1, C1, A1, A2, B2, C2, A2, A3, B1, B3, C3 .. instead of A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3. This means that the font list is appended with the new names at each session and not checked for duplicate entries.. the list should be sorted each time there is a new importation session and not allow duplication on importation. So... long story short.. is there any .log file i can check and how do i delete fonts without using app menu -> settings -> fonts option? Kind regards, Joao Edited October 2, 2019 by Joao Silva
