Kev
Hi I’m fairly new to processing on the iPad and am wondering if anybody can tell me how I can automatically keep the original filename when exporting my work from .RAW format to .afphoto and .JPG formats. i want to be able to keep the camera filename so I can cross reference my processed work to original camera file, and sometimes re-visit my processing. i only get the “Untitled.jpg” option and its an absolute pain having to look up the original file name, type in and change it. Thanks in advance Kev
Staff Lee D Posted September 28, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 28, 2019 You get the Untitled.jpg option if you go straight to Export without going back to document screen within Photo. If after doing your adjustments you switch to the document screen, the app will then apply the original filename to the working file. If you then tap and reopen and then use Export it will have the original filename. Not an ideal workflow at the moment, It has been raised before and I believe it is logged with the developers to see if any improvements to this process can be made but until I'm back in the office I can't say for sure. Kev
Thanks Lee, yes - not the best workflow. this would be a great improvement if the developers could work something in.

Old thread, but the problem still exists. I cannot verify your explanation. All my imported files always have the file name „untitled“, no matter what I do. The export/save/save as procedure in Affinity has the urgent need for improvement, guys!

When you “import” it removes the filename, if you “open” the file name is kept. Unfortunately you cannot “open” from apple photos, only import. However there is a method using Apple shortcuts, here I use an Open In Photo shortcut to open from the Apple photos share sheet which as you will see maintains the filename. The shortcut is very easy to make yourself. IMG_0944.MP4 Quote My dad always told me, a bad workman always blames their tools…. Just waiting for Ronny Pickering….. I was just checking that others apps could also see the filename when done this way. Quote My dad always told me, a bad workman always blames their tools…. Just waiting for Ronny Pickering….. Tschens
Now I got it. I thought you show in this video how to make the shortcut. But you just show how to use it. Finally, I was able to reproduce the shortcut, now it works. Thanks Paul! Jens Paul Mudditt
