[Forum] How to Auto-Update a Custom Activity Stream ?

Recommended Posts

In the forums view "Activity" the choice "All Activity" does auto-update itself in the browser.

Is there a way to set custom streams auto-updated, too?
( currently I can't recognize the last update time because they are shown as relative, like "1 minute ago" ... "23 hours ago". )

I haven't found any way to do that, thomaso.

My best suggestion is to refresh the page. Then you know what the "1 minute ago" etc. relate to.

I doubt it's available, as I think that would slow down the servers to constantly monitor everyone's customized activity search, just in case a new item appears and they are watching the stream.

Ah, thanks for this info. That makes it more clear why my custom stream irregularly reacts with this yellow warning/question, which I suspected to might be a more local issue with network or browser. – So, do I guess right a stream loads faster with fewer search terms (=less forums) and also during less forums traffic? Even limiting the stream's time period (e.g. 1 week only) can not speed up but must slow down, – correct?

Interesting/odd: When this bar appears the page loads first entire posting texts (as strings), which are then reduced to the minimized "Expanded" view (max. 2 text lines). <– Possibly a waste of sent data and optimizable on the server?
