BlueSailing
Is there a way to convert my Indesign .idd documents from Adobe and use them in Publisher? Thanks for your advice!
Wosven
Hi, It's not possible, and it'll probably have more an import of IDML files than INDD files, since XML (what IDML files are made of), is simpler to understand and convert to some other file format. For now, you'll have to export to PDF and import those in APub, and to try different ways to export/copy your text or your styles in APub. You'll find some tips here:
Alfred
IDML import will be added at some point, but implementation of a filter for the ever-changing INDD format seems highly unlikely. Perhaps other users will be able to point you in the direction of a third-party converter you could use. Just a note...QXP, which can currently open IDML files, is adding .indd single/batch conversion with its October update. The bar for what is possible is constantly advancing among other applications. Affinity Publisher, like the other Affinity apps, will ‘open’ (i.e. import) a PDF file directly, so you might like to try that route first.
