BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I cannot get Affinity Photo to install. I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809, Build 17763.678. I have a 32 Gb solid state C drive with 2 Gb free and a 2 Tb internal hard drive with 1.2 Tb free. Please advise. Thank you!
Alfred Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @BlueSailing. Do you get any error messages? You might have a corrupt or incomplete download of the installer file. You can download a fresh copy from https://affinity.store/update/windows/photo/1/ but your setup logs might offer up a clue to some other problem, in which case downloading a fresh copy of the installer would be a waste of time and ‘bandwidth’. To share those logs, press the WinKey (the key with the Windows logo, to the left of the space bar) and type or paste the following string, and then press ‘OK’: %Temp%\AffinitySetup In the Explorer window that opens, find the files Setup.log and SetupUI.log in the newest folder and attach them here. BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 Here are the files but I did get a warning, "There was a problem uploading..." I think it was file 200?
BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 I did not get an error message on the install.
Staff Callum Posted September 21, 2019 Staff Posted September 21, 2019 Hi BlueSailing, Welcome to the forums Please could you try providing the setup logs that Alfred mentioned? They should allow me to look into this further for you. Thanks C Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 Callum I thought I did send those to Alfred. Maybe there was a glitch. There are 5 folders and I'm attaching them to this msg. Thanks for your help! Setup.log SetupUI.log Setup.log SetupUI.log Setup.log SetupUI.log Setup.log SetupUI.log Setup.log SetupUI.log
Alfred Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 From the ‘SetupUI.log’ file containing the timestamp 7:51:48 (which I think is the last one of the five): Quote +Out of disk space: Out of disk space -- Volume: 'C:'; required space: 1,178,391 KB; available space: 1,142,728 KB. BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 Thank you! I'm about to gut my recycle bin. It contains >10 Gb. One other question. Does Affinity Photos have a feature similar to Adobe Actions? I need to automate some tasks, eg crop an image, add a filter, flatten, save to a specific folder on my computer. I don't want to do this in batches, ie just single images. Alfred 1

Affinity Photo can’t read Photoshop actions but it includes its own Macros feature. Although you can use macros in batch jobs, this is optional. BlueSailing Posted September 21, 2019 Author Posted September 21, 2019 Thank you for your help today. I'm up and running. I love this program! I'm even seeing some things Photoshop doesn't have! Alfred 1
BlueSailing Posted September 22, 2019 Author Posted September 22, 2019 Is there a way to assign a Function key to a macro? eg assign F5 to a macro which will close an image without saving.

You really should start a separate topic for such an unrelated question However, I'm not aware of any way to assign shortcuts to macros. And even if you could, a macro cannot close an image. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
