Staff Chris B Posted September 20, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 20, 2019 Hey p_mac, I'm struggling to reproduce this and I've tried toggling 'Touch for Gestures only' but it makes no difference! I use my little finger as a pivot a lot of the time when painting/selecting and I've never noticed it Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
p_mac
Hi Chris B thanks for your reply. Tried to post a video but wouldn’t upload. This situation happens often with me but is is random. It doesn’t occur when I use my finger as a brace but rather with a soft touch. I didn’t have the touch for gestures on so doesn’t show the contact on vid so won’t do to demonstrate. Will stay alert to this as it is annoying for me. p_mac
Still am not able to upload the video but here is the number of times this happened in ~ 2 minutes. I was laid my little finger on the screen so there was not a pinpoint touch The touch gestures did not pick this up. Still unable to upload the video. Will try again in a few minutes. p_mac
I went back and looked at the video that the screen shot above is from. In each case, the touch gesture did show where my finger was. It looks like what was happening was that I touch the screen first with my finger and then when the Pencil touched, it drew a selection channel from my finger touch to the Pencil touch. I thought that was not supposed to happen, but that seems to be what was happening. It is unfortunate that I cannot upload the video. I have a very slow internet connect, too cheap to pay enormous fees for faster speeds, so maybe that is the reason I can’t upload, even tried on my iMac, nada. Anyway, went into the AP setting and turned on the “touch for gestures only” and the issue seems to be resolved. Is this a work around or is that the expect behaviour? Staff Chris B Posted September 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 25, 2019 Hi p_mac, On 9/21/2019 at 4:57 AM, p_mac said: It looks like what was happening was that I touch the screen first with my finger and then when the Pencil touched, it drew a selection channel from my finger touch to the Pencil touch. I was able to reproduce it using this method but only using the Apple Pencil. I cannot repo it with my fingers. I can repo it with Touch for Gestures on as well... This doesn't feel right so I'll query it with the developers. p_mac 1 Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
p_mac
Hi Chris B, did you ever get an answer back from the devs about this issue. It is still happening to me with the selection tool but also now notice that it is occurring when in the refine screen. Just checking back. Staff Chris B Posted November 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 6, 2019 Sadly not. I've updated the bug report as I've been running into it a bit more often recently Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
