Affinity Photo Crashing issues

Hi I'm very new to The Affinity suite - recently invested in the whole Affinity package as want to steer away from Adobe. I'm running the latest version of Affinity photo on Mac OS El Capitan 10.11.6 and the photo app just keeps crashing constantly. Publisher and designer run fine but not photo, any advice would be appreciated.....
