Petar Petrenko Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Hi, Manual rotation of the object (with handle) does not recognize choosen rotation reference point in Transform panel. It always rotate it from center. Alfred Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 There have been many threads about this. If you want to rotate the object around one of the corner or edge handles, you need to move the rotation point to the chosen handle: it should snap to the exact position if your snapping settings are correct. stokerg and Petar Petrenko 2 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
Edina Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) I tried to figure out for a whole afternoon in Affinity Designer how to move the rotation point to the right handle in an oval, consulted the Help guide, watched tutorials, tried to follow the instructions, but still it didn't work! I got very frustrated in the end! Please help me. How can I move the handle from the top to the right? How should I set the snappings? Edited May 7, 2020 by Edina Quote
G13RL Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 You must enable "Enable Transform Origin" in the context bar. You can then move the center of rotation to the desired location. Quote
Edina Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 (edited) Yes, I tried that, but in the tutorial-example the rotation-handle was on the right, and I did not see it appearing so when I did the "enable transform Origin" . So, how did they do that, moving the rotation-handle? That's what's puzzling me. Yes, I tried it now, it worked, thanks. But why this confusion? Edited May 8, 2020 by Edina Quote
G13RL Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Thanks for the feedback! In the video or tutorial you watched the shape may have been previously rotated 45° clockwise. Quote
