Issue with curves tool

Recommended Posts

When I edit with for instance the color space RGB and then, without leaving the curves tool,  I switch over to the next color space CMYK or LAB it resets everything I did while in RGB mode. When I edit with any of those three color spaces I have to switch to another tool and then come back into curves in order to change color spaces without it resetting everything I did while using the first color space. It will let me change channels though like it should without resetting everything. It’s only an issue when changing color spaces. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Jbaker0024 and Welcome to the Forums,

As soon as you switch Colour Space, RGB is no longer valid, so they reset.  The other colour spaces can only show the options which apply to them.  So RGB, can't show LAB values and LAB can't show RGB, as LAB they don't apply to LAB.  Changing channels works, as those channels are part of that colour space.

So I guess the only way to keep them from resetting when I switch from one color space to the next is to keep doing what I’ve been doin which is instead of going directly from say RGB to LAB I switch from RGB to another tool like HSL and then without making any changes I switch back to the LAB color space. When I do it that way it keeps the changes I made in RGB when I start editing the LAB color space.
