James Leonard
I have Photo 1.7.2.471 installed on a PC running Windows 10 Home version 1903. It's extremely slow. Basic adjustments such as curves take at least 5 seconds to apply, sometimes considerably more. Selecting layers can also take at least 15 seconds. After searching the forums I have tried all the recommended fixes, as well as reinstalling; all with no affect. My other editing software all work perfectly so I'm reasonably sure it's not a PC issue. My PC deatails are: i5-3550 3.3GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeoForce GTX 1050 Ti. If anyone can offer any suggestions or advice I'd really appreciate it as I've run out of things to try. Jim.
Staff DWright Posted September 16, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 16, 2019 Can you please provide more information on the type of image files that you are using with Affinity Photo and the performance settings in the Preferences screen. Also can you please confirm that you are running the latest Nvidia drivers.
James Leonard
Thanks for your reply. I'm working on JPEGs and 16 bit TIFF files exported from Capture One or Nikon RAW files that have been through the Develop Persona. My performance settings are: RAM usage limit - 16384MB, view quality - Bilinear, dither gradients - activated, renderer - default NVIDIA GeoForce GTX 1959 Ti, retina rendering - automatic. I have the latest NVIDIA studio driver installed. Since my original post things have got considerably worse. I attempted to use masked curves layers for some burning and dodging. A single stroke from a basic round brush is now taking several minutes to render. I only have a single file open at once as I've found lately that having two or more open seems to cause crashes.
