Iam1of2
I sometimes want to work in Photo when no internet is available, and I would like to reference the user manual (or help file). I have such a file, downloaded a year or two ago, but so much has happened to the software, I'd like to obtain a newer version. It seems the downloaded version is more detailed than the help file attached to the software, or maybe its just my imagination. Unfortunately, I can't locate the link to the windows version download. Can someone post the link if it exists? Thanks.

AFAIK, there is no online Windows version of the help files. Some of the online help web pages may have been updated to include references to Windows but most have not. The Help file is, of course, always available simply by pressing F1 or using the menu Help > Affinity Photo Help on Windows. Someone did prepare a downloadable version of the Help as a PDF file, but I think that was only for 1.6. Alternatively, you could open your installed Help file in a web browser, if that would make it easier to use. You would simply navigate to, e.g., C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo\PhotoHelp\Contents\Resources and select the appropriate language subdirectory, such as en-US.lprog, and then launch the index.html file. Sludgefest
I would prefer a PDF Help File. Why is this? Because I like to add text NOTES to my PDF Help files. Something I cannot do with Affinity Publishers existing Help file system. I have tried creating a PDF version but am only able to create only a single page at a time. Iam1of2
There are lots of possible problems trying to create your own help files. Most of them will fall under the category of maintenance. Every update, and there has been a ton of those, needs to be reviewed to see if the existing help needs modification. I tried to do something similar, but finally decided that my life should be devoted to images, not help files. Affinity products are work in process, and they seem to do a modicum of attention to this subject. Perhaps when the products are more mature, we will see better written support. In the meantime, keep watching for new video tutorials on your particular interests. These are improved over the original efforts.
