MattU
Hi, I'm trying to subtract one pixel from another i.e have a background pixel layer, place a pixel over it and then erase (or subtract?) *only* what is underneath the second pixel - leaving a hole in the background the same shape as the second pixel shape I hope that makes sense... I'm guessing that this is something to do with layers and masks, but can't for the life of me work it out. Help!
IanSG
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but.... Let's assume you want to cut a dog shape out of the background. You have 2 layers - the background layer and the layer with the dog. Use the selection brush to select the dog, refine as necessary, and then untick the dog layer (making it invisible) and select the background layer - the selection will be applied to that layer and you can delete it or change it as you wish. You can use the Move tool to reposition and or resize the selection if you need to. MattU 1 Quote AP, AD & APub user, running Win10
MattU
That was exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks so much. I just couldn't work out the correct sequence. Yes, basically I was just trying to cut the shape of one pixel layer out from another.
