Lens correction being senile and selective in build 1.7.2.471

Hi,

Since I have updated to build 1.7.2.471, Affinity Photo seems to be forgetful about my Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD B016 Macro for Nikon. As I open a .NEF RAW format file, and the Develop Persone loads, the header shows the exact lens, but automatic lens correction cannot be applied in the relevant portlet, though it is still a supported lens. The native 35mm Nikkor lens I also shoot with, seems to be handled as designed. It is very likely a bug has eaten away a bit of useful code of my poor sturdy glass. Could you please conjure up some magic to put it to work again? :)

Many thanks in advance!

Yours sincerely,

Zoltan

Hi Pazli,
An update on this issue: apparently the Tamron model you have is not the quite the same model we officially support and in the previous version of Affinity Photo, it was being picked by mistake. In version 1.7.2 the routines were improved, are now more precise and discard any lens profiles (corrections) that don't match the Lens ID. The correction parameters are mostly likely the same but we are still looking into/confirming this. Meanwhile you can still access/apply the previous lens corrections in Photo Persona, going to menu Filters > Distort > Lens Correction and selecting manually your camera and lens from the respective dropdowns.

Hi MEB,

Thanks a lot for your kindness and keeping track of my complaint. In the meanwhile, I have sold the glass. Now I use a Sigma C 17-70 mm f2.8-4 without issues. I'm still a very happy user of the Affinity Photo software (though I wouldn't mind a little asset managing capability and a real RAW batchwork function 😉).

Best regards,

Pazli
