Rainon
Hi, is it possible to create a luminosity mask and refine it using levels or curves adjustments. In Photoshop you can mask a pixel layer and then apply image then adjust the contrast on the mask to target the areas you specifically want to adjust. You then darken or lighten the areas by painting on the pixel layer. Can I do something similar in affinity? Many thanks.
Staff Lee D Posted September 9, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 9, 2019 After making the selection, see video, create a New Mask layer, then you can Deselect the selection. With the Mask layer selected you can then use the Brush Tool, set the brush options and paint directly on the mask. We have this video tutorial available on creating luminosity masks from layers in Affinity Photo, however Blend ranges are available which offer an alternative workflow. Rainon
Hi Lee thanks for the reply. I have had a go at that but no joy. I could not paint on the mask. is there a way to paint on a masked blank layer where you can darken or lighten targeted areas with no "bleeding". For example if I was to enhance clouds by dodging and burning light and dark areas, but as I dodged it didn't effect the dark areas and vica versa. Cheers, Chris
