the wall
Yesterday the clone top was working properly, today i don't get a preview in the cloning circle, the circle is misshaped and i have to go over the same area about 10 times to have a perfect clone, opacity is 100%,flow100% hardness 80% , when it does clone it's very fuzzy not sharp i haven't change anything since yesterday i have restarted Photo and it is still the same

the wall
Thanks Dutchshader that sorted out the shape of the clone brush, still don't get a preview and multiple strokes to clone a subject.
dutchshader
is the image a pixel layer? if not right click on the layer in the layerspanel and rasterize. and check in the context toolbar if the brush blendmode is set to normal, and current layer. the wall
Checked everything you have suggested the cloning is a little better but not as it should be as per Affinity video and as for the preview in the cloning brush i can see a slight hint of a preview as if it's set at 10% opacity
Staff stokerg Posted September 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 6, 2019 Hi @the wall 16 hours ago, the wall said: i can see a slight hint of a preview as if it's set at 10% opacity But nothing when opacity is at 100%? Would you be able to provide a screen recording showing this as it may help identify the problem

Staff stokerg Posted September 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 6, 2019 Thanks for the screenshot. Those settings should work fine. Can you just go into Preferences for Affinity Photo and on the User Interface section make sure you have Show Brush Previews enabled. carl123
Is it just that one image the Clone Tool is not working properly on or do other images (not from the same camera) also do the same thing? Staff MEB Posted September 6, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 6, 2019 Hi the wall, Go to menu Select > Deselect (or press cmd+D) then try the Clone Tool again. Does it work properly? In a few specific circumstances it may cause this although I don't believe it's the case here. Do you mind attaching the afphoto file used to record the video above? Staff MEB Posted September 26, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 26, 2019 Hi the wall, Are you still able to reproduce this? If you open the document again (I'm assuming you have closed Affinity Photo before performing this) and start painting with the clone tool does it behave the same way (multiple passes to get the whole opacity) or works as it should now? I believe I have reproduced the issue here from scratch, just need you confirm this for me please. Thanks.
