Creating User Interaction with Macro issue

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been working through the workbook for Affinity Photo and have run into an issue that I cannot understand. This is preventing me from moving forward.

On page 421, it states:

1. Click the Edit button in the Macro Panel. This sets the parameters for the HSL Shift adjustment.

I'm assuming the "Edit" button is the little gear symbol? So I click that and am presented with a large column of sliders to adjust various colors. The book then states:

2. From the dialog, click the Present during playback Eye button on the Master saturation, Red hue and Red saturation parameters to present these on playback.

I do not see any Eye symbol, nor do i see a "Master" category?!

I've attached a screenshot of where I'm stuck. Can someone please help me figure out where this Master section is?

Thank you,

Chris

That's correct!

The 'Eye' symbol is to the right hand side of each adjustment parameter, I've highlighted these in your screenshot below -

Unfortunately this appears to be a bug in relation to the window size of Affinity not being tall enough to fit all the adjustment parameters. As can be seen in the below screenshot from my Windows PC, the 'Master' categories should be at the top of the list -

I'll get this logged with the developers, as the adjustment parameters need a scroll bar or similar so that all parameters can be viewed on shorter screens.

In the meantime, you can still make changes to the Master options - however it appears you're unable to select the 'Eye' icon for these parameters which means what why you run the Macro your HSL adjustment will automatically apply with the previous values. Setting this 'Eye' to on simply means that when you run the macro you're shown a pop-up dialog allowing you to edit the values before continuing with the Macro. To workaround this for the time being, leave the Eye options set to off, then after running the Macro simply double click the HSL adjustment in your Layers panel and edit the values in the usual fashion, from within the Adjustment window. I hope this helps!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
